Forgotten Memories Remaster Gets a Release Date
Canadian Developer Psychose Interactive is now preparing for yet another re-release of itspopular horror game, having just announced thatForgotten Memorieswill be getting a remaster on October 28. Apart from mobile devices, theRemastered Editionof the 2015 title will also launch on the Nintendo Switch. This will be a digital-only release, available only via the eShop. No pricing information has yet been attached to the project.Forgotten Memories: Definitive Editioncurrently retails for between $3.99 and $4.99 on mobile devices, and doesn’t have any kind of microtransactions.
Forgotten Memories: Remastered Edition Promises Better Visuals, New Difficulty, and More
Much like the 2015 original,Forgotten Memories: Remastered Editionpromises a treat forfans of survival horror gameslooking for an unnerving experience inspired by classics such asSilent HillandResident Evil. The revised version of the game will feature improved visuals, including new lighting and particle effects, as well as higher-resolution textures and more detailed character models. The music and sound effects have also been remastered for the project, which also reworks enemy AI and animations. A new “Insane” difficulty setting will be part of the package as well, together with achievements, UI improvements, and better localization, among other novelties.
The upcoming remaster has been in development for over a year, with Psychose Interactive originally announcing it back in August 2023. On that occasion, the Canadian studio also revealed that it was working on aForgotten Memoriessequel. While not much is known about this project yet, Psychose previously revealed that the game will feature bigger levels and a new art direction.
Seeing howForgotten Memoriesis still widely regarded as one of thebest mobile horror games ever made, fans of the genre shouldn’t sleep on this upcoming remaster. Its pre-orders are scheduled to open on October 25, three days ahead of the game’s multi-platform release.
Nintendo Switch Lite
The Nintendo Switch Lite was released in 2019 as a low-cost, handheld-only game system. It’s designed specifically for handheld play, offering a lightweight design as part of its portable offerings. The controllers are built into the system for handheld play, unlike the larger Switch models. The console itself retains full functionality as a standard Switch, but it does not support docked mode.
