A theoretical Update 1.7 toStardew Valleycould expand on a part of the game that hasn’t grown nearly as much as the rest of the game. Given how dramaticallyStardew Valleyhas expanded through its updates, it’s hard to consider any kind of new content off the table. It would be particularly exciting to see some of the game’s lesser-focused aspects get a little more attention. With the game’s main mechanics already being so polished, it couldn’t hurt to keep building in other areas. If nothing else, it would be a fun surprise to see inStardew Valley’s next update.

FromStardew Valley’s movie theaterto the vacation spot of Ginger Island, ConcernedApe has added a wide variety of content to the game through updates. The addition of new crops and the like helped the game along in its own right. However, what was truly impressive was the introduction of features that had no predecessor, and were pretty much created wholesale for the new update. These are the additions that helpedStardew Valleygrow from a satisfying farming game to something even more robust. Update 1.6’s new festivals shows that ConcernedApe has not slowed down, so further updates could lead to even more surprises.

Stardew Valley’s Next Update Could Give Junimo Kart and Journey of the Prairie King Some Competition

Outside ofStardew Valley’s Junimo Kartand Journey of the Prairie King being among the toughest parts of the game, they share a unique distinction. While they’re notStardew Valley’s only minigames, they are the only playable video games in Pelican Town. Not only that, but both have been in the game since the beginning, with no subsequent updates adding similar games. This makes these arcade games quite unique. In later updates, Mr. Qi’s casino games and darts in the Pirate Cove added more minigames toStardew Valley. Despite that, Junimo Kart and Journey of the Prairie King remain the only arcade games.

The Movie Theater’s introduction added a crane game, but unlike the other minigames, it’s more of a prize machine.

Stardew Valley Has Valid Reason To Add More Arcade Games

Giving players more outside offarming inStardew Valleyhas been a consistent pattern in updates, and if Update 1.7 comes, that trend is likely to continue. There is decent reason to introduce a new game or two as well. The movie theater, for instance, could have a new game added to the lobby, especially since there’s already a crane game there. Likewise, the Stardrop Saloon features arcade games as well, and there could be room for one more. Arcade games don’t have a huge presence inStardew Valley. However, there are enough potential locations for a new one to make a debut.

Another Arcade Game in Stardew Valley Has Several Possiblities

Another retro game in the same vein asStardew Valley’s Journey of the Prairie Kingis the likely direction for a new in-game arcade game to go, especially considering the game’s pixel graphics. There are a lot of retro arcade games that could provide some form of inspiration, such asSnake,Joust, andPac-Man, among others. A platformer is another good option, especially since there are several elements and in-universe settings that could serve as a backdrop. A pinball game is also a strong possibility, and would carry plenty of retro charm. All in all,Stardew Valleyhas more potential to add another arcade game than one might think.

Stardew Valleyadding another arcade game in Update 1.7 is definitely possible. With some ofStardew Valley’s toughest achievementstied to the existing games, it could be worth going back and adding to their number. There are a few decent ideas for minigames that could be added to the game, and they could fit quite well.Stardew Valley’s everyday loop will always be filled with daily chores and socializing. At the same time, Update 1.7 can give players something new to do with the farmer’s free time.
