Since the early days ofWorld of Warcraft, world bosses have been a part of the game. While there is significantly less competition and griefing related to world bosses than there used to be, these outdoor PvE challenges provide players with an additional source of endgame loot.
Since there have been so many world bosses over the years, Blizzard brought back some of the classics so that players can fight them again as part of the anniversary event. Now, withthe 20th Anniversary, there are even more bosses to give players a trip down memory lane, and here is where they can all be found.
All world bosses have a daily lockout, which means that you may farm them once per day rather than once per week.
Sha of Anger
Those who playedMists of PandariaorMists of Pandaria Remixwill be very familiar with this boss. The Sha of Anger is encountered in Kunlai Summit, but the 20th Anniversary variant spawns on the western edge of Tanaris, just south of the Noxious Lair. In addition to his normal loot table, the Sha of Anger has a chance to drop the Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent.
Archavon the Stone Watcher
Despite the fact that Archavon is not a world boss, he has been adapted into one for the 20th Anniversary. At the launchofWrath of the Lich King, Archavon was the only boss you could fight within the Vault of Archavon if your faction controlled Wintergrasp.
For the 20th Anniversary, Archavon can be found in the northern part of Tanaris between Gadgetzan and Zul’Farrak. He drops his usual loot table that will scale to your level and you have a chance at obtaining the Grand Black War Mammoth as well.
Doomwalker
This world bossfromThe Burning Crusadeneeds little introduction. Doomwalker has been roaming the dunes of Tanaris as part of theWoWAnniversary celebration for several years now. On your first Doomwalker kill, you are guaranteed to get the Azure Worldchiller mount along with the Doomwalker Trophy Stand. If you are lucky, you may even get an item from the loot table as well.

Azuregos
While it may seem strange now considering that Azuregos has appeared in several quests duringthe Blue DragonflightCampaign inDragonflight, Azuregos first made his debut as a world boss. He spawns on the southern part of Azshara. While he doesn’t drop a mount, he does have some decent items on his loot table.
Fang of the Mystics

Dragons of Nightmare
While there are four green dragons that can be classified as the Dragons of Nightmare, only one is active every day. Fortunately, you can open the map and check which one is active rather than having to travel to each spot to see who is up. Taerar spawns in Ashenvale, Ysondre spawns in Feralas, Emeriss spawns in Duskwood, and Lethon spawns in The Hinterlands. Regardless of which boss is active, they all share the same loot table.
Ring of the Unliving

Doom Lord Kazzak
This last one is arguably one of the most infamous world bosses inWorld of Warcrafthistory. Back in the early days of the game, some players would kite Kazzak to Stormwind. Due to Kazzak’s Supreme mechanic, he would eventually become unkillable and turn the city into a ghost town littered with dead NPCs and skeletal remains of players. Players would even grief other groups trying to kill this boss normally as well.
Of course, this is no longer possible since world bosses will eventually reset and go back to their spawn point if they are kited long enough. History of the boss aside, Doom Lord Kazzak spawns in the Blasted Lands in the Tainted Scar. If you beat him, here is what he has a chance of dropping (depending on your class).
