Another new way to protect against attacking enemies is to create a knight. This new character can be used to defend against barbarians or claim roads you didn’t build.
Plus, the expansion balances the game for larger groups, making these two sets the absolute best way to begin playingCatanwith friends. TheCities & Knightsexpansion is available during Prime Day for just $25.
Catan: Explorers and Pirates

The very first expansion forCatan,Seafarersadds a bit of challenge and a few more strategic avenues for players to explore. For example, players can build shipping lanes, which work essentially the same as roads. The fourth expansion,Catan: Explorers and Pirates, draws on these elements. Instead of just one island to conquer, there are now three, although two of the islands will be randomly drawn throughout the game. There are also changes to dice roll rules and resource management, as the game balances classicCatanplay within a much, much broader universe.
