Summary

Respawn Entertainment released a new update forApex Legendson October 10, which significantly nerfed the Mozambique, reducing its rate of fire and magazine size, among other adjustments. The Mozambique has been a relatively niche gun for several years, but a recent buff quickly made it one of the most popular guns inApex Legends.

Apex Legends' Season 22 updateturned out to be a significant one for the community, as the developers introduced new maps and several changes that had a critical impact on the meta. While there was some controversy around the update due to the changes to the Battle Pass, the developers quickly revised their plans after receiving community feedback. In a new tweet, Respawn Entertainment revealed a significant update that was rolled out forApex Legends. The developers have finally listened to the requests of the community, and both the single and akimbo Mozambiques have been nerfed as part of the update. The Akimbo Mozambiques were added as part ofApex Legends' Season 22 update, and they have been the most overpowered gun in the game by far. While many were expecting it to be nerfed inApex Legends' mid-Season 22 update, that patch was focused more on balancing the Legends and adding new events.

TheMozambiques were quite effective inApex Legendsfor a variety of reasons, including their rate of fire, magazine size, and range. The rate of fire for both variants of the Mozambique has been reduced across all bolt rarities. Along with that, the magazine size for the single variant has been reduced to five, while the akimbo version has been reduced to ten. However, the increase in the blast pattern scale will likely have the most significant impact, as it reduces their effectiveness at longer ranges. Last but not least, the projectile size for akimbo Mozambiques has been reduced to align them with other shotguns.

While these changes are welcome news for the community, fans aren’t quite happy with the fact that the developers nerfed the single Mozambiques as well. Many players pointed out that it was just the akimbo variant that was broken, and the single Mozambique was perfectly balanced. However, it seems like the changes haven’t had a drastic impact on the weapon’s popularity. Fans noted that the Mozambique is still dominating lobbies and remains just as effective since its damage remains untouched. Additionally, thedual-wield P2020 inApex Legendshasn’t been tweaked by the developers yet, so some players are already planning to switch to that.
