Summary
Bandai Namco has announced that a newArmored Core 6: Fires of Rubiconpatch, titled Regulation Patch Notice 1.07.2, has been released and is now available on all platforms. This patch aims to adjust balance inArmored Core 6: Fires of Rubiconand applies changes to various weapons and inner parts of the mechs.
Armored Coreis a FromSoftware series that many had previously thought to be forgotten in light of industry-changing games likeDark SoulsandElden Ring. WhenArmored Core 6: Fires of Rubiconwas announced as a reboot, fans eagerly awaited the new game, confident that FromSoftware would deliver excellence again. True to form, the mecha game was critically acclaimed, and Bandai announced thatArmored Core 6had sold three million copiesin July. Game director Hidetaka Miyazaki has also hinted that a sequel may be on the horizon.
Since its release,Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubiconhas received a series of patches, mostly focusing on balance adjustments. The latest patch, Update 1.07.2, further adjusts some of the game’s equipment. Severalweapons inArmored Core 6either received buffs or were nerfed, like the Missile Launcher BML-G2/P03MLT-06 and the Plasma Missile Launcher Vvc-706PM, which have had their weights decreased. Conversely, the Coral Rifle IB-C03W1: WLT 011 saw an increase in its Impact stats.
Balance adjustments have also been made to Inner Parts. Five Boosters received a buff in their Upward Thrust, and two generators, the AG-T-005 HOKUSHI and theVP-20D,received an increase in their Supply Recovery. Bandai Namco advises that, likeprevious updates forArmored Core 6, console players can only download the patch if the game is booted with online mode activated. If it’s booted in offline mode, the patch won’t be downloaded. Players should check the System Menu Interface and Networking Settings to ensure the game is online.
While these patches improve all gameplay modes, they’re also aimed at enhancing the game’s online system. Last year,Armored Core 6introduced a ranked mode, so even minor balance adjustments can impact online matches. Seeing FromSoftware’s continued improvements a year after the game’s release partly explains whyArmored Core 6continues to break sales milestones.
With this much success, it’s only natural that FromSoftware will likely continue supporting both the game and the series. A recently posted job listing indicated that the company was hard at work on another project involving robots. Fans speculate it could be the nextArmored Coretitle or aDLC forArmored Core 6. Considering FromSoftware’s swift release timeline, it might not be long before a new announcement emerges.
