Building Speed is the first of five free DLC stages forAstro Bot. Much like the bonus stages that were added toAstro’s Playroom, it requires players to race to the end as quickly as possible, with a couple of new VIP Bots awarded toAstro Botplayers who manage to make it to the finish line before the two birds.
Visually, the stage borrows a lot of elements fromthe Construction Derby stage in the Gorilla Nebula, with players needing to navigate cranes and swinging platforms to make it to the end of the course. They’ll also need to make use of Barkster, the bulldog booster, who also played an important role in Construction Derby.
How to Complete Building Speed
To complete Building Speed, players will need to use Barkster and the blue bounce pads to successfully navigate the first section and then make their way across the two moving beams. It’s possible to use the crane to the left and a well-timed dash to skip a decent chunk of the stage here, although this isn’t required for those simply wishing to make it to the finish line in 45 seconds or less.
The next section contains a few glass platforms, which players can skip over using Barkster or Astro’s booster. They’ll then need to dash into the blue Barkster bounce pad to make it to the upper area, where they’ll find even more Barkster bounce pads. They’ll then come to a carwash-style section followed by a slope with an electric pad at the bottom, which players should jump over to reach the blue bounce pad on the other side.
After dashing through some boxes, players will come to another slope and some red spinning platforms. They’ll want to aim a dash toward the center of these platforms and then jump onto the blue bounce pad that’s hovering just in front of them. From here, all that’s left to do is to dash into the final Barkster bounce pad, which will take players straight to the end of the stage.
Building Speed Cameo Bots
Players will unlock both ofthe Building Speed VIP Botsby making it to the end of the stage before the two birds. Beating the blue bird’s time (60 seconds) will unlock a VIP Bot based onthe protagonist fromRise of the Ronin, while beating the red bird’s time (45 seconds) will unlock a Cameo Bot based ona Helldiver fromHelldivers 2. After unlocking them, players will find their new VIP Bots at the Crash Site and will be able to procure special items for them from the Gatcha Lab. The Helldiver’s item is a one-way shuttle, while the masterless samurai gets a glider.
