Avalon Hill shared a ton of updates and revealed a number of exciting new games and expansions recently, with Spiel Essen serving as their place to debut a new expansion and a new standalone game. Thehighly-ratedLife in Reterragame is getting a ton of new cards along with a new setting in theMoonriseexpansion, which will be available starting March 2025. Then there’sCosmolancer, developed by the celebrated Reiner Knizia. That game brings more space-themed fun, reimagining the game Kingdoms in a world where players take on the role of a freelance space photographer!
Never ones to disappoint, Avalon Hill has a few goodies for TTRPG fans as well. First up isTalisman Alliances: Fate Beckons, which wasannounced earlier this yearand is now available for purchase. The first-ever expansion forTalisman 5th Edition,Talisman Alliances: Fate Beckonsadapts the game for co-op play, forcing players to work together to save the world!
In this expansion, which does require the base game to play, gamers set forth on an epic adventure to complete five daunting Trials. Each trial is almost its own game, as players are tasked with bringing two Talismans on the Places of Power, unseal the Portal of Power, and defeat that Trial’s adversary. TheFate Beckonsexpansion offers a vast world of possible scenarios, thanks to the 30 new starting cards and four packs of 20 cards for different trials and events.Talismanwas already extremely replayable, but now the possibility of getting bored with the game seems seriously low.
