Baldur’s Gate 3Patch 7 has started rolling out to consoles. Aside from PS5 and Xbox Series X/S users, the new update has now also reached the macOS version ofBaldur’s Gate 3.
PC players were the first to be able to play Larian’s hit RPG, which debuted on Steam in August 2023. The game then reached the PS5 and macOS in September before finally making its way to Microsoft’s current-generation consoles three months later. ThePC version ofBaldur’s Gate 3has generally been the first to receive updates ever since.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Gets Mod Support on Consoles
That pattern is continuing withBaldur’s Gate 3Patch 7, which reached PC on September 5 and is now finally rolling out to macOS and consoles as of October 1. This release introduces several novelties, the biggest of which arrives in the form of mod support. The way Larian implemented this feature is similar to how mods work in Bethesda games: the tools for makingBaldur’s Gate 3add-ons are PC-only, but a comprehensive selection of curated community creations is also available to console and macOS players.
Cross-platform mods need to be made with the game’s official Toolkit and pass technical testing conducted by Larian Studios. The submission process allows modders to choose whether to apply to have their creations released on macOS, consoles, or both. Due to technical limitations, some types of mods aren’t eligible to be part of Larian’s curated collection, including those that in any way tweak the game’s shaders or rely on some officially unsupported file formats. Larian also won’t accept mods that increase thelevel ofBaldur’s Gate 3nudityor violence due to age rating compliance.
Console and macOS players can nowget started withBaldur’s Gate 3Patch 7 modsby navigating to the game’s newly added Mod Manager menu. This interface is divided into “Browse” and “Installed” tabs for discovery and management, respectively. Aside from uninstalling add-ons, the Installed tab can also be used for temporarily disabling them. Turning off or removing mods could break some existing saves that utilized them, so it’s generally a good idea to be careful about doing so. The game itself will conveniently recognize modded saves, prompting players to synchronize the required add-ons to their correct versions via the newly introduced verification window.
Baldur’s Gate 3achievements will be automatically disabled when using mods. In terms of cross-progression, Patch 7 reintroduces cross-save support for macOS and consoles. The update itself is roughly 12GB in size, depending on the platform.

Does Corruption Call Your Name?
Whether you embraced absolute power, carried out your father’s will, played as an Origin character or were generally a menace to society, you’ll find Patch 7 now introduces 13 new cinematics that offer varying conclusions to your most evil playthroughs.
If you’re a streamer who is very demure, very mindful, and you use the ‘Show Cinematic Nudity’ option in the game’s settings, it’s worth noting that we’ve now renamed this option to ‘Show Sexual and Violent Cinematics’ and updated its description to more accurately indicate what it does. This setting toggles explicit content plus a few select moments of extreme violence that may be distressing to some. We might have also embraced corruption a little too much because the new evil ending cinematics have been included in this setting. They really are that evil.
This setting does not affect your adventure, your choices, or your access to romance options; however, it does block sexual content with nudity and particularly violent scenes with gore.
Whether you’re starting a new game or loading an old save to relive your battle with the Netherbrain, you’ll get to see these new cinematics depending on the choices you make.
It’s a One-Night Kinda Thing
We remember clearly stating in Community Update #28 that if you are playing as the Dark Urge, a certain bard would now be able to join the party as a controllable character at camp if there’s an empty slot, TEMPORARILY.
It would seem some of you didn’t pick up what we were putting down.
There are no new companions. There is only death.
New Honour Mode Legendary Actions
To add to the nightmare fuel, we’ve also made some improvements to Honour Mode combat, like giving Malus Thorm a new Legendary Action called Grasping Appendage. Gross.
A New Way to Mod Baldur’s Gate 3
We’re also bringing you another way to mod your Baldur’s Gate 3 saves, with Patch 7 introducing our very own in-game Mod Manager and modding Toolkit, which can be downloaded on Steam for PC players!
