God is a mysterious being in One Punch Man seemingly interfering with the affairs of the hero association and is an elusive but major antagonist in the Monster Association arc. Few have seen him, and even fewer are aware of his existence; he appears to select targets, mostly vulnerable or in perilous situations and offers them power. It is shown that whoever decides to accept his power allows him to manipulate their vessel as he pleases.
God has been shown to be extremely powerful; with his motives and greater identity unknown to all,any he grants his power gains unimaginable powerand rises to the level of S class and above in terms of power level. During the course, he only seems to assist monsters or villains and kills any about to reveal his existence, only a select few like Blast, Pyskos, and Homeless Emperor, almost all of whom have been killed.

After a battle with Kurosaki Ichigo, he was eventually defeated and exiled from Soul Society. Through numerous arcs and chapters, Aizen is shown to be extremely malicious and evil,doing extremely terrible thingswithout regard to who he uses or what means he uses to reach his goals.
Throughout the course of the anime, Aizen became more powerful in each encounter; at his base level, he was a strong captain, making him a worthy adversary from his first appearance. Subsequently, Aizen merged with Hōgyoku, becoming even more powerful, granting him enough power to lead the Espadas through his sheer strength alone. Even after he was eventually sealed and trapped in Central 46, he had enough power to affect the world outside his prison, with his spiritual power being very distinct and being felt by those even far away from him.
