1Jump Pack Intercessors
Fast Attack Squad
Space Marine 2is full of heart-pumping sequences with numerous memorable moments. However, some of the best action is when Lieutenant Titus and his squad equip jump packs and take to the air. These few fun sections in the campaign break up the gameplay loop and make Titus almost invincible.
For players looking to start a Space Marine army, Jump Pack Intercessors are a useful unit to acquire. The Space Marine range is the biggest Games Workshop produces, and these fast-moving warriors are a great addition to the faction on the display shelf and the tabletop.
Fallen Warriors Continuing the Fight
Dreadnoughts are colossal war machines and living sarcophagi for fallen Space Marines. Once an Astartes has been wounded in battle and is too damaged to heal, their bodies are entombed within a Dreadnought. Here, they cancontinue to servethe Imperium on battlefields around the galaxy until death finally takes them.
Most Dreadnoughts are kept in a state of sleep to save them from madness. They are only awoken when it’s time for war. The Dreadnought models are great additions to any Space Marine army. They’re excellent heavy support and look great on a display shelf.
3Lieutenant Titus
An Unwavering Son of Ultramar
The former Ultramarine Captain, Lieutenant Titus is an unwavering and loyal warrior whose sole purpose is to serve humanity. While his methods are sometimes questioned by the rigid doctrine of his battle brothers, he has proven himself countless times. While the stain of suspicion may never fully leave him, hisduty and honor are forever.
While Lieutenant Titus is the star ofWarhammer’s most high-profile video game,Space Marine 2, he is notably absent from the standard Ultramarine range. However, his miniature is available through theSpace Marine 2board game. While this was previously only available in the US, it has seen a recent widespread release.
4Marneus Calgar
Chapter Master Of The Ultramarines
Marneus Augustus Calgar is one of the most respected leaders in the Imperium. He has led the Ultramarines in countless campaigns and is known as a cunning tactician and inspiring leader. While he is no longer the supreme commander of the Ultramarines since the return of hisPrimarch, Roboute Guilliman, he still wields tremendous power and influence. He was named Lord Defender of Greater Ultramar and leads the 500 worlds in Guilliman’s absence.
Calgar’s model is a must-have addition for any Ultramarine army. The pack comes with two Victrix Honor Guard models and Marneus Calgar himself, with his iconic duel power fists.
5Lictor
The Ultimate Ambush Predator
The Lictors are some of the toughest common enemies inSpace Marine 2’s Operations. Ambushing players with little warning, they are quick, agile, and dangerous. The Hive Mind created the Lictors as specialist infiltration warriors, and are perfectly adapted to hunting and ambushing unwary enemies that cross their path.
The Lictor is a true Lovecraftian horror, with its mantis-like arms and tentacled mouth, they are great additions to a Tyranid army and can be useful lone operative units on the tabletop with strong melee attacks. For new players looking to start a Tyranid army, the Lictor is a fun model to collect and paint.
6Hive Tyrant
Commander Of The Tyranid Swarms
The Hive Tyrant, as seen in the game, is often used as the leader of a Tyranid army and is an imposing creature both in the lore and on the tabletop. These large bioforms are powerful and deadly and attack with ferocious psychic energy. They possess a higher intelligence than common bioforms as they enact the Hive Mind’s malevolent will.
The model can be built as either a Winged Hive Tyrant or the Swarmlord that players face off against inSpace Marine 2.While this is a larger model, this Tyranid Commander is an awesome early project for those new to the hobby.
7Rubric Marines
Cursed Warriors Of Chaos
The Thousand Sons were a cursed faction from the beginning. Plagued with an unstable geneseed which resulted in numerous mutations, the Chaos Sorcerer, Ahzek Ahriman, attempted to save his brothers with warp magic. The Rubric of Ahriman would fail and turn the majority of the legion into mindless automatons, their bodies turned to dust and their souls trapped in their armor.
The Rubric Marines seen inSpace Marine 2are the frontline warriors of the Thousand Sons and are controlled by Chaos Sorcerers, who worship the changer of ways, the Chaos god Tzeentch. They’re the core of any Thousand Sons army and make excellent first-time models for players looking to collect the Chaos faction.
8Helbrute
Rampaging Monsters Of War
Helbrutes are the Chaos equivalent of Dreadnoughts. Each one houses a Chaos Marine, wounded beyond healing and encased within the Helbrute’s massive frame. They are also some of the toughest boss enemies inSpace Marine 2. Their powerful hammers attack players unrelentingly, while their plasma cannons can deal great damage from range. Most Helbrutes have been driven mad by their incarceration and, like all Dreadnoughts, are kept asleep while not in battle.
The Helbrute miniature has many weapon options, which many hobbyists magnetize to become interchangeable. They can be painted in thecolors of any Chaos factionand while each faction’s Helbrute offers different abilities, each one is a fantastic addition to the army.
9Heldrake
Colossal Flying Nightmares
Heldrakes are terrifying daemon engines created by Chaos Warpsmiths to rain down death and destruction on a massive scale. They are often the first wave of attack during a planetary assault. Attacking from orbit onto the planet, the Heldrakes can decimate populations with fire and hatred.
The Heldrake miniature is an ornate model that can be painted in the colors of any Chaos faction. They’re worthwhile additions that look great on the display shelf. Painting Heldrakes can take time due to the large amount of gold trim featured on the miniature. However, once finished, they’ll be one of the coolest models in the collection.
10Lord Of Change
Greater Daemons Of Tzeentch
One of the most spectacular moments inSpace Marine 2comes when the Ultramarines are assaulting the Thousand Sons en masse, only to witness a colossal Daemon, a Lord of Change, spill forth from the warp. The Lords of Change are the most powerful of Tzeentch’s creations and are masters of magic and deception.
The stunning Lord of Change model is a perfectcenterpiece for a daemon armyor a powerful addition to a Thousand Sons collection. The model can make either a standard Lord of Change or the two-headed daemon, Kairos Fateweaver, the most famous of all Lords of Change. These models are highly detailed and quite pricey. Brand-new hobbyists may struggle with the Lord of Change as a first mini. However, for an advanced painting project, it is one of the best choices available.
