There are so many objects inDead Rising Deluxe Remasterthat can be used as weapons. From water guns to CDs, almost everything players pick up can be used to wipe out acrowd of zombies. The Willamette Park Mall is huge, and there are secrets around every corner.
Knowing where to go to find the best weapons isn’t always obvious. Just because Frank West is in the midst of a zombie apocalypse doesn’t always mean he can’t have a bit of fun though, especially when there are plenty of excellent weapons that can be used from the beginning and throughout.
10Skateboard
Travel Around The Apocalypse In Style
Many makeshift weapons can be used early on to give players the upper hand when dispatching zombies, and the skateboard is an excellent choice because it also doubles as a mode of transport for getting around the mall.
Frank can use the skateboard to ride into a crowd of zombies and take them out, although it can be riskier than other objects on wheels. When the urge toturn into Tony Hawksubsides, it can also be used to hit any zombies that get in the way.
9Shelves
Great For Taking Out Large Groups
While the mannequin can be a solid choice for wiping out agathering of the undead, the shelves are excellent for clearing out elevators or tight corridors. They are everywhere, with the easiest one to access right in front of Frank after leaving the vent above the Security Room.
They don’t have the best durability and are classed as heavy weapons, so they can’t be stored in the inventory. Still, when approached by countless zombies, the shelves are an easy item to find when getting overwhelmed.
8Shopping Trolley
Shop To Death
The shopping trolley can be found everywhere, particularly in large crowds. Just listen for the squeaky wheels and they’ll be close by. They can be swung in the air, but the best way to use them is as an indoor zombie plow.
While items like the skateboard or the lawn mower can be used similarly, the shopping trolley is much faster and easier to control, and with decent durability, they’re great for killing plenty of zombies in such a short time, as well as keeping them at a distance.
7Excavator
Spin Some Zombies
Using the excavator canprovide heavy damageand protection at the same time. It impales bodies on the end of it, then spins them around at rapid speed while Frank moves forward and takes out anything in his path.
While it is slower than other weapons, its power and range mean it’s so easy to keep zombies away from Frank while a body acts like a rotary blade, spitting blood and guts all over the mall. The corpse can then be launched as a fleshy missile afterward.
6Chainsaw
Cuts Like Butter
A staple ofDead Rising, the chainsaw is just as fantastic this time around. It might be slow, but Frank can run with it without having to press any buttons to clear the way and do damage to the masses of zombies scattered around Willamette Park Mall.
While not as compact as the small chainsaw, it does a lot of damage when swung in circles, making it great to escape a particularly tense situation. Running with it stops any zombies trying to eat Frank, making it a must for intense onslaughts of the undead.
5The Queen
Fighting Infection With Infection
It might not be a melee or ranged weapon that can be repetitively used, but the queen is superb for causing any zombies in its vicinity to collapse on the spot. They are found by taking out zombies that act differently from the rest, normally staring into space.
Once Frank has picked up the jar with the queen inside, it can then be thrown at a crowd of zombies and cause them to seize up and drop to the ground. A single-use item that has an instant impact, making it perfect for clearing paths for Frank and his survivors.
4Katana
Hack And Slash
Thekatana is one of the quickest weapons, capable of doing a lot of damage. It slices through enemies without any resistance and is the perfect weapon for dismembering zombies and psychopaths without ever breaking a sweat.
There are seldom melee weapons as good as the katana, even though it doesn’t have the longest lasting durability. Nothing is more satisfying than killing so effortlessly, especially when fighting bosses who like to get in close.
3Shotgun
Reliable And Relentless
Guns are found throughoutDead Rising Deluxe Remaster, but the shotgun is the most reliable. Coming with twenty rounds per pick-up, the shotgun is the most accessible gun for Frank, especially as players can pick three up at a time after defeating Cletus at the Huntin' Shack.
It is such a powerful weapon from close range, capable of killing two or three zombies with the same pull of the trigger, and while there are better guns out there, it will never let players down, no matter how hard the enemy becomes.
2Small Chainsaw
Compact Slicing Machine
The big chainsaw is great for clearing a lot of zombies all at once, but there comes a time when it needs to be dropped to allow Frank to move faster and get to where he’s going without any excess weight holding him down.
After killingAdam the Clownat the Space Rider at Wonderland Plaza, he’ll drop a small chainsaw. Not only can it be stored for use later, but it does plenty of damage as it cuts through enemies quickly without any effect on Frank’s speed.
1Heavy Machine Gun
Shower Of Bullets
The most powerful gunthat can be used throughout most of the story is the heavy machine gun. After killing the convicts in Leisure Park, Frank can climb into the jeep and take the weapon from the cold, dead hands of those annoying criminals.
It can’t be stored in the inventory, so it’s best to use it when players have a particular boss Frank needs to face. However, when fired, it will kill zombies and certain bosses in a much quicker way than with the standard submachine gun.
