Summary
The release date of the 18th volume of Kōji Miura’s Weekly Shōnen Jump serialized sports romance manga,Blue Box, has been revealed not long after the release of volume 17.
The 18th volume is set to hit shelves on December 4, two months after volume 17, and there is also word of aBlue Boxnovel being released alongside volume 18, although no official sources have confirmed this yet.TheBlue Boxanime, produced by Telecom Animation Film, began airing on October 3.

Blue Boxfollows Eimei Junior and Senior High student, Taiki Inomata, who is on the boys' badminton team and has a crush on Chinatsu Kano, the soon-to-be ace of the girls' basketball team alongside whom he trains in the school gym every morning before anyone else shows up. One day, Taiki’s heart is shattered when he learns that Chinatsu is set to emigrate after her parents secure work abroad, but it turns out she’ll be staying with some family friends and continuing the pursuit of her dream to help guide her team to Nationals.
Taiki decides that he will only confess his love when he has dedicated himself just as much to his own sporting endeavours, and has a difficult road ahead if he ever hopes to reach Nationals in badminton and someday tell Chinatsu how he feels. The series is consistently ranked among the top five in Jump from week to week, and has enjoyed a number of moments in first place, making itone of Shōnen Jump’s most popular titlesin recent years.
An anime adaptation of the series was announced in November 2023 and is produced by staff at Telecom Animation Film (Tower of Godseason 1), with production planning by TMS Entertainment. The anime is directed by Yūichirō Yano (original work cooperation,MF Ghost), with series composition by Yūko Kakihara, character designs by Miho Tanino, photography direction by Yūki Kawashita, music by Takashi Ōmama and sound direction by Jin Aketagawa. The cast ofBlue Boxincludes Reina Ueda (Kisa Soma,Fruits Basket[2019]) as Chinatsu Kano, Shōya Chiba (Kiyotaka Ayanokōji,Classrooom of the Elite) as Taiki Inomata, Akari Kitō (Eve,Birdie Wing -Golf Girls' Story-) as Hina Chōno, and Chiaki Kobayashi (Gabimaru,Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku) as Kyō Kasahara. At this point, no official channels have shared the news of the novel adaptation; however, Blue Box volume 18 is set for release on December 4.

Based on Kouji Miura’s manga, Blue Box is a sports romance anime about Taiki Inomata, an average badminton player, who is inspired to strive for nationals by Chinatsu Kano, the basketball team’s star player.
