What is the Illuminati?

The Illuminati is a powerful organization that seeks to revive The God of Demons, Satan. The King of Light, Lucifer, is the leader of the Illuminati and the driving force behind the revival of Satan. Although the Illuminati plans to revive Satan, that is not their only goal.
In the first stage, the Illuminati declared war upon the True Cross Order of Knights. A year after their first public introduction, the Illuminati plans to revive Satan. The reason the Illuminati wishes to revive Satan is to unify the divided Assiah and Gehenna. In Blue Exorcist, the human world is called Assiah, and the demon world is called Gehenna.
Demons can enter Assiah or the human world by possessing those within it. However, the demon must be compatible with its host. The more powerful the demon, the higher the compatibility needed. The Illuminati, or Lucifer, wishes to return to the original state where light and darkness were born. By doing so, everyone will be equal and free from affliction, and thus, the world will become peaceful.
We must re-create everything. For that is the Illuminati’s mission.
As previously mentioned, the Illuminati is a powerful organization. Before the Illuminati revealed itself to theTrue Cross Order of Knights, they were first known as the Bright Future Foundation. This Foundation would recruit members from powerful families to join the Illuminati with the Foundation as its front.
In preparation for Satan’s revival, the Illuminati, under the guise of the Foundation, founded the Far East Laboratory, which took place in Inari. This facility experimented on humans who visited theFoxes’ Alley, a tourist destinationof restaurants and other food vendors. However, those who have indulged in the food here would become addicted and thus live in the Peace Town Inari, a building built to house those who have been experimented on.
The purpose of these experiments was to create an immortality elixir. The first attempt at this elixir was to maintain Lucifer’s deteriorating body, and the second was to create a body that is capable of surviving being possessed by Satan.
Where is the Illuminati’s headquarters?
On a huge airship, the Illuminati can evade detection
The Illuminati’s primary headquarters is the Dominus Liminis, a magically camouflaged airborne aircraft carrier that is ground zero for all of its magically scientific research. In the airship, the Illuminati’s primary focus is on the development of scientifically and technologically advanced weapons and armor.
The airship also houses Lucifer’s perfect clones, which are perfect bodies that Lucifer can switch out and replace if they deteriorate. Lucifer’s search for his ideal human body first began during his time in Section 13. During this time, Lucifer and many of his siblings, theEight Demon Kings, had been searching for a human body in Assiah to withstand their possession—however, the more powerful the demon, the harder the search for their perfect body. This is also why Satan could not possess a human for a long time when he tried to enter Assiah.
Has the Illuminati accomplished this goal?
The Illuminati has revived Satan but has yet to recreate the world
In Chapter 110, Lucifer reveals to Yukio that the Illuminati has successfully created his perfect clones, which he can easily switch into if his body deteriorates. However, these clones are merely replacements and a quick fix with the elixirs. As mentioned above, the Illuminati’sgoal is to revive Satanand bring forth unity to Assiah and Gehenna. To revive Satan, he needed a perfect body to possess and the elixir to serve as an immortality serum.
The Illuminati continued their research on the elixirs, conducting experiments on the Dominus Liminis. They have since completed their research and thus created the completed elixir during their final experiment. The process of creating Satan’s ideal body had already been completed at the Illuminati’s ground laboratory, the K.R.C. Laboratory in Romania.
The final process was the last experiment to create the elixir, which took place on the Dominus Liminis. To complete the experiment, the Illuminati needed three demon eaters called the Chosen Ones. These Demon Eaters, who housed Ouroboros, Phoenix, and Hydra, were then placed into a distillation furnace that would separate the demons from the Chosen Ones and carbonize them. With this, Lucifer created a single droplet of the completed elixir, and thus, Satan was revived in Chapter 129.
What connection does the Illuminati have to Section 13?
Section 13 is what gave Lucifer the ambition to continue the cloning experiments
The production of perfect bodies for the Eight Demon Kings began with Section 13. Section 13 was a restricted area with the Asylum at the True Cross Academy under the True Cross Order of Knights. It was first founded to prolong Lucifer’s life, as no human body could handle being possessed by such a powerful demon.
The Asylum mass-produced clones of the Eight Demon Kings to find his perfect match. They used the DNA fromSamuel, or Mephisto Phelesand Azazel, to create clones. At the time, Lucifer was reaching his end, as the body he was possessing was deteriorating at a rapid rate. As an extreme measure, Lucifer was about to destroy the world, and thus, everyone would return to an equal world without suffering.
To prevent this from occurring, Mephisto Pheles devised a plan to create a clone and take away Lucifer’s pain. This is how he created Section 13, with the Asylum as a front. However, the creation of the clones was not enough to ease Lucifer’s pain, which is why they also had to research an elixir.
