In anew tweet, Treyarch confirmed thatthe launch ofBlack Ops 6"was only the beginning," as Infected, a massively popular game mode that originated in private lobbies back in the days of the originalModern Warfare 3, will be added to the game as part of a new playlist update on October 29. The mode begins with every player as a survivor before one individual is chosen as the infected player. They must then eliminate the survivors to turn them into the infected. While the mode often varies slightly with eachCall of Dutygame, the infected are usually only equipped with a knife, while the survivors are given a random class.
The arrival of Infected comes just three days beforeBlack Ops 6players get to jump back into Nuketown, as Treyarch has also confirmed the iconicBlack Opsmap will be added to the game’s rotation on Friday, November 1. Fans have yet to receive a proper look at Nuketown’s design inBlack Ops 6, but Treyarch has confirmed it will be a faithful remaster of the original map from 2010’sBlack Ops, with updated graphics and improved visuals for the current generation of consoles. While Nuketown has been featured in numerousBlack Opstitles over the years, many of them have been altered to fit the theme of its title, butBlack Ops 6will give players the opportunity to experience this iconic map as it was at launch.
While the return of Nuketown and Infected will likely keep fans busy until the game’s first seasonal content update, there are plenty of players eager to see what Season 1 will bring. Prior to the game’s launch, Treyarch confirmed that it would be bringing back some iconicBlack Opsmaps as part of the shooter’s post-launch updates, with Nuketown likely being the first of many. Unfortunately, there’s noconfirmed release date forBlack Ops 6Season 1just yet, but a promotional email suggests the update will be released on November 14.
