Some of the negative reviews have hencetaken aim at Call of Duty HQdue to things that fans have been complaining about since the app’s 2022 debut. One of them is the fact thatBlack Ops 6is technically CoD HQ DLC, meaning it contributes to the same playing time count asModern Warfare 2andModern Warfare 3. As a result, it’s not possible to get an automatic refund from Steam during the platform’s two-hour playing time grace period. Some players labeled this as a blatant attempt at circumventing Steam’s refund policies. Others have also criticized the CoD HQ user experience, claiming it takes several minutes just to launchBlack Ops 6, let alone start playing.
Others still have voiced grievances about a variety of technical problems, ranging from performance and networking issues to a weird case of the game just refusing to start, i.e., CoD HQ crashing at launch.
