While fans had the opportunity to go hands-on withBlack Ops 6earlier this year during its two beta weekends, Treyarch has confirmed a handful of new changes and improvements will be made by launch. The most notable of these changes will come to the game’s Zombies mode, as the studio intends to address fans' concerns with the overall feel of its Liberty Falls map, as well as some new HUD changes for the mode.
Shortly after confirming thatNuketown would be returning forBlack Ops 6on November 1, Activision also revealed during the latest episode of the officialCall of Dutypodcastthat a “fan favorite” party mode will be returning in the game’s first season. When asked by a fan for more details onBlack Ops 6’s party modes, Activision’s senior director of studio communications, Stephanie Snowden, said, “There is a fan-favorite coming in Season 1.” To which her co-host, Miles Ross, simply responded by saying, “You bet there is.” While there’s no official word on what the mode could be, fans are speculating that it will more than likely be Prop Hunt.

There’s still no confirmation on when the firstseasonal content update forBlack Ops 6will arrive, but Treyarch and Activision have already confirmed some big details about new content coming to the game post-launch. While there’s heavy speculation that Prop Hunt is the fan-favorite mode returning in Season 1, fans have been informed that Infected will be returning just one week after the game’s launch as Treyarch looks to continue the spooky-themed content currently ongoing inModern Warfare 3. Fans can also expect to see Nuketown, a popular multiplayer map that has been a staple of theBlack Opsseries since the original game, return on November 1.
Black Ops 6will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 25, with some major changes set to drastically mix up theCall of Dutyfranchise. Alongside a whole host of new maps, weapons, modes, and more,Black Ops 6will introduce a new omnidirectional movement system, allowing players to jump, dive, and sprint in any direction they choose. The game’s new movement system will also be implemented into the series' hit Battle Royale game,Call of Duty: Warzone, marking the beginning of a new era in the series.
