As part of Shocktober 2 Season 64, this newClash RoyaleEvent will run from October 14 to 21, after which the challenge will start.
Your deck choice will matter a lot in this event if you’re trying to secure as many wins as possible. Some cards will naturally work better in the event’s unique design. We’ve compiled some of the best decks for the Blackout event to give players the best shot at winning.
Clash Royale Blackout Event Overview
InClash Royale’s new Blackout event, players must build a deck of eight cards.Evo cards are not allowedfor the event, so you’re stuck using only the base versions of the cards. You can still choose one champion for your deck if you want. The biggest twist of the event is that the arena will be entirely black for most of the match. You’ll see the health bar of your opponent’s troops when they get damaged, but that’s pretty much it.
Occasionally, a flash of thunder will lighten up the arena, and that’s the only time you’ll see what’s on the map. The lightning flash is random, so you may’t depend on it too much. To win the match, players will have to rely on the sound for the most part. You’ll have to figure out which troops your opponent has deployed from the sound and figure outhow to counter it. This challenge will put yourClash Royaleknowledge to the test, forcing you to play the game half-blind.
Turn up the sound when playing the event to make things easier.

You’ll find more information about these decks below:
Goblinstein Drill Poison
Goblin Drill decks have always been strong inClash Royale. But with thearrival of the Goblinstein champion, they have become even stronger. This Goblin Drill cycle with the new champion added into the mix is perfect for the Blackout event, allowing you to break through your opponent’s defenses and get tower damage with little to no effort.

Goblinstein
5
The Goblinstein Drill Poison has an average elixir cost of 2.9, which means you can play quickly and aggressively. In a game mode where your opponent can’t see the cards you place on the field, the Goblin Drill is extremely powerful. Sure, your opponent will know that you’ve played the Goblin Drill from the sound, but they won’t be able to figure out the exact spot of the drill until the goblins are already on the tower.
For defense, you’ve got plenty of cheap units to spam. Ice Spirit, Skeletons, Bomber, and Cannon will help you handle enemy pushes. Against air troops, theGoblinstein Doctor comes in handy, while the Goblinstein Monster can walk down the lane, applying even more tower pressure on your opponent.
Popping the champion’s ability at the right moment can help you get massive tower damage and eliminate the swarm cards that your opponent uses to counter your drill. With Poison and Arrows in the deck, you can start cycling spells on the tower later on. Otherwise, they can serve as a secondary way to kill swarm troops.
Go with Cannoneer for your Tower Troop when using this deck.
Recruits Mighty Miner Skele Barrel
Skeleton Barrel and Suspicious Bushare arguably the two most punishing cards inClash Royale’s new Blackout event. Suspicious Bush is a hard enough card to counter as it is since it requires perfect unit or building placements. With the dark arena for the event, the card becomes even trickier for your opponent to defend.
Royal Recruits
7
Royal Recruit decks have always been great at applying dual lane pressure. However, with the recent nerfs to the card and the newevolution cards in the meta, players are generally hesitant to run a Royal Recruit deck. Since this challenge doesn’t allow Evo cards, the Royal Recruits Mighty Miner deck with Skeleton Barrel and the Suspicious Bush can win you almost every single matchup.
Despite featuring one of the heaviest cards inClash Royale, the average elixir cost of this deck is only 3.6. That means cycling through your deck won’t be as difficult assome of the popular Beatdown decksin the game. With two low-elixir win conditions (Skele Barrel and Suspicious Bush), you can apply consistent pressure without committing too much of your elixir bar.
Mighty Miner and Royale Recruit are your main defense against heavy troops like the Mega Knight or Pekka. Firecracker and Goblin Gang can help defend against air troops, and Mother Witch can turn swarm units like Goblins or Skeletons into Cursed Hogs to attack your opponent’s tower.
Dagger Duchess is the perfect tower troop for this deck.
Mega Knight Wall Breakers Spam
If you’re afan of cycle decksand prefer chipping down your opponent’s tower instead of taking it all out in one push, then the Mega Knight Wall Breakers Spam might be exactly what you’re looking for. This deck’s cheap, spammy units make it easy to break through your opponent’s defenses and deal with tower damage.
Mega Knight
This deck offers plenty of offensive combos with the Miner. With the Miner tanking the tower hits, you’re able to spam Spear Goblins, Goblin Gang, or Bats on the bridge. Your opponents will have no option but to defend the push, and if they mess up, you will get a decent chunk of damage on the tower with little elixir investment.
Defensively, you’ve got the Mega Knight to tank damage and deal with swarm cards and Inferno Dragon to take down any of their big tanks. Goblin Gang and Spear Goblin also add a lot of value defensively againstbig troops like Golemor Giant. Bats can stop the Balloon or Lava Hound when used right.
Your goal with this deck is to be aggressive from the first second. Keep cycling Miner on the enemy tower to get consistent chip damage. Split Wall Breakers in the middle when you need to apply dual lane pressure. You don’t need to get a successful connection as long as your opponent keeps spending elixir to defend their towers.
This deck works best with the Tower Princess tower troop.
The best part of seasonal events inClash Royaleis that they always add something extra to the game. The blackout event is certainly one of the weirder ones we’ve seen recently, and it takes a bit of time to get used to it. The decks we mentioned here will give you a good starting point for the event. But it’s also essential to try out other card combinations and experiment with your playstyle tobuild a deck that’s perfectfor you.
