Niantic’s mobile game has a fair share of glitches, with some simply being visual, and others being more severe, likethrows being broken inPokemon GOin the past. Thankfully, this particular glitch is simply a cosmetic one, and shouldn’t have any significant impact on gameplay. However, it’s nonetheless funny and creepy to look at.
Pokemon GOplayer BeachButch shared the bizarre screen they were presented with in-game after beating aTeam GO Rocket Grunt. Anyone who’s participated in those fights will recognize the screen, but the Team GO Rocket Grunt and the player’s trainer character are both missing parts of their faces. The Team GO Rocket Grunt seems to have the worst of it, though, with things like their hands missing, and some elements of their body becoming transparent. However, the Phantump Hat missing its front has also made the trainer character look rather scary.
Pokemon GO Trainers Amused by Timing and Comment
Pokemon GOplayers have left plenty of comments on the post, with some of them pointing out how funny the Team GO Rocket Grunt’s line is, saying that she can’t “face” the boss like this while she literally has no face. Several joked that this was part of the game’s Halloween update, and that it had gone from a cool atmosphere to nightmare fuel. One joked that Niantic had “resting glitch face,” while another shared a similar image ofTeam GO Rocket Leader Cliffalso missing his face. Variants of this visual glitch have hitPokemon GObefore, so it’s not clear if this is an issue that’s come back in a recent update or if it just continues to be a periodic problem. Players who are impacted by this glitch may want to restart their game, as that will likely fix the issue.
While these glitches are spooky, there’s plenty of official fun to be had for the Halloween month inPokemon GO. Players are eagerly awaiting the start of the first part of thePokemon GOHalloween event, which will begin on October 22. The event is introducing the form-changing Morpeko to the game, so players will be working hard to add it to their collections. What the second part of the event will hold will be revealed later on.
