Becoming the friend of an anarchist rockerboy terrorist isn’t exactly going to be easy, especially if he’s sharing the same headspace as V. Yet, inCyberpunk 2077it’s possible, but not exactly simple. Metamorphosis with Johnny Silverhand inCyberpunk 2077is inevitable, but players can make sure that they and Johnny are best buds depending on the dialogue options that they select during specific missions across main jobs and in Phantom Liberty.
Without Phantom Liberty, players can achieve a 70% relationship with Johnny Silverhand, and with it, they can achieve a total of 85%.It’s not possible to obtain a 100% relationship with JohnnySilverhand inCyberpunk 2077unless players commit to a specific ending. However, every mission that affects Johnny’s relationship, and the correct dialogue, is listed below.
The secret ending in Cyberpunk 2077is not dependent on the relationship percentage, but instead, the dialogue chosen in Chippin' In.

How to Get 70% Relationship with Johnny Silverhand
For players with the base game ofCyberpunk 2077, theiraffinity with Johnny Silverhandcan rise to a total of 70%. This change begins with Act Two throughout some of the main jobs and is dependent on what players say to Johnny during pivotal conversations within specific missions. Within each of these main missions listed below, players have an interlude with Tapeworm in which it’s one-on-one with Johnny, and saying the right thing is essential to growing a relationship. However,only dialogue in the Chippin In’ mission impacts the secret ending, which is also found below:
Automatic Love
After investigating the whereabouts of Evelyn Parker at Clouds, Johnny and V will have their first serious conversation about how they are going towork together in a shared brain. This will break the ice between the two and grant10%affinity:
The dialogue between Johnny and V is interchangeable depending on whether players completed Transmission or Life During Wartime first.
Life During Wartime
Panam Palmer aids V in chasing down the crashing Kang Tao AV that holds Arasaka’s leading bioengineer, Anders Hellman. Upon a conversation with the man, the relationship between Johnny and V grows an additional5%:
After leaving the motel, players can again speak to Johnny, but this conversation will not raise their relationship percentage. However, it’san important moment between the two, so the correct dialogue options are as follows:
Transmission
After dealing with the Voodoo Boys in any way V sees fit, and discovering the fate of Alt Cunningham, Johnny’s old output, and earns another5%to continue their metamorphosis and their quest for Mikoshi:
Search and Destroy
The final mission of Act Two involves Johnny and V escaping an abandoned apartment building that has been infiltrated by Arasaka. Regardless of whether players save Goro Takemura or not, V and Johnny will retreat to the Sunset Motel where a proxy for Hanako arrives. After a conversation with the proxy, Johnny’s relationship raises5%. However, after the conversation, another conversation with Johnny begins:
Chippin’ In
Chippin’ In is only unlocked after the correct dialogue options are taken above from the final Tapeworm segment. Thebeginning of Chippin In’is more of an interactive cutscene where Johnny’s choices do not matter, as players will still earn a5%relationship bonus. However, in the actual Chippin’ In mission where Johnny and V go to the Oil Fields,these dialogue options do in fact matter for the (Don’t Fear) The Reaper secret ending, and a further10%to the relationship:
Blistering Love
Taking Rogue out on a date to a drive-thru at the movies and letting Johnny take control sees an additional10%to the relationship, but she can also be romanced:
Holdin’ On
Agreeing with Johnny to help his old Samurai friend Kerry Eurodyne will further grow the relationship by10%:
A Like Supreme
After Kerry and Johnny agree to get Samurai back together, players must complete the next side job, Second Conflict. No decisions affect Johnny’s relationship, and neither does it matter if V decides to take Denny or Henry, so feel free to choose either one. Either way, after the band gets back together, players have one dialogue option to choose from, and then Johnny and V’s relationship status should be at a solid70%:
How to Get 85% Relationship with Johnny Silverhand
Players can achieve a total of85% relationship with Johnny if they have the Phantom Libertyexpansioninstalled. Considering Phantom Liberty acts as its own starting point for players, there are ways to raise their base relationship from the minimum, butthose who already have 70% will only see an increase of 15%, no matter the options they select. Some players may also have 85% already from the moment they started Phantom Liberty, but these particular quests and these specific actions/dialogue will ensure the maximum relationship percentage with Johnny:
Lucretia My Relfection
Reject President Myers’s request to take the FIA Oath by selecting: [Take coin] Yeah, no… Let’s skip the oath. This will earn players a10%boost to their relationship with Johnny.
The Damned
After exiting Alex’s bar, talk to Johnny at the Tree of the Lost. The dialogue options here don’t matter, as players will always receive a10%boost, but it’s better to play it safe and select the friendly options:
Players can only pick one of thetwo options with Firestarter, which will lead to The Killing Moon or Somewhat Damaged.
The Killing Moon
The Killing Moon is only available to players who decided to betray Reed during the Firestarter mission. With this mission active, players mustkill Solomon Reedand place Songbird onto the ship. This will boost V’s relationship with Johnny by10%.
Somewhat Damaged
Somewhat Damaged is exclusive to players who decided to betray Songbird during the Firestarter main job. In order to get an extra10%with Johnnyduring Somewhat Damaged, players must select the following option: [Kill So Mi] Fine.
How to Get 100% Relationship with Johnny Silverhand
The only way to obtain 100% relationship with Johnny Silverhand is to enter Nocturne Op55N1 and complete the Temperance ending.Whether players go with Panam, Rogue, or the suicide mission of (Don’t Fear) The Reaper, players will want to select the following options once they enter Mikoshi with Alt Cunningham:
Doing so will see V surrender their body to Johnny, leaving to go beyond the Blackwall to become one with Alt, while Johnny gets a second chance at life and begins the Temperance ending with V’s body now his own.
While in the Temperance ending, Johnny’s relationship will be at a solid 100%, since there is no V in the way anymore, thus the Relic has succeeded in creating a metamorphosis by rewriting V’s mind to be that of Johnny. Upon completing the Temperance mission, players are returned to Embers before the start of Nocturne Op55N1, so it’s not possible to continue the game with a 100% relationship with Johnny.
