Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon’s season 5 has finally aired, giving way to Bell Cranel and Hestia Familia’s exciting adventures. After such an intense season filled with near-death encounters for Bell and the familia, season 5 ofDanMachistarted off at a much slower pace. After the Familia’s death-defying escapade intothe dungeon’s lower floors, each member of the guild underwent considerable growth. While the rest of the familia never ventured too far into the dungeon, they still had to endure the lower floors’ hoards of powerful monsters. The new season begins by acknowledging the efforts of each member of the familia, coupled with a few level ups as well.
The familia’s only two level 1 members, Liliruca and Haruhime, finally ranked up to level 2, largely owing to their support role in the dungeon. Instead of ranking up, the rest of the familia members gained an immense boost in their stats, making them closer to leveling up as well. Bell, on the other hand, is due for a level up after defeating the incessant advances of monsters on every floor. However, Hestia is purposely keeping him from leveling up, either to keep him safe from the gods’ gaze or to ensure he doesn’t end up wandering onto the lower floors again.

With season 5 ofDanMachirevolving around the Goddess Festival, the first episode of the season has already offered a glimpse of what’s to come. Since the festival is a tribute to the gods and goddesses for a successful harvest, the four primarygoddesses of fertilityare etched in four distinct towers for the entire duration of the festival.

Syr Is a Mysterious Character Among DanMachi’s Roster
Syr initially remained a minor ancillary character for the first few seasons ofDanMachi, though she is set to take center stage in the current season’s premise. Syr is one of the waitresses at the Hostess of Fertility tavern, and apart from her warm sentiments for Bell, little is known about this mysterious character and herulterior motives towards Bell. She is eerily present in the backdrop of almost every major event inDanMachi, yet her role remains minimal.
However, the latest season of DanMachi has unveiled some rather rattling revelations about this peculiar character. For now, Syr has asked Bell on a date for the Goddess Festival, an audacious move for a shy and frail character. Moreover, the letter was delivered by one of the highest ranking members ofthe Freya Familia, making matters all the more bizarre. This string of events points towards a much deeper role for Syr’s character, one that is set to unravel in season 5 ofIs It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon.
Syr’s Possible Identity
From the initial epilogue of the latest episode, a few aspects of Syr’s true identity can be inferred. Syr stands somewhere on the spectrum of goddesshood, meaning she cannot be with Bell, as gods and humans are forbidden to enter a relationship. However, she was also able to receive an audience with the Goddess Freya, a feat that no ordinary human being can achieve.
