Date Everythinghas been delayed to a February 14 release date, just in time for Valentine’s Day.Date Everythingis a sandbox dating sim developed by Sassy Chap Games and published byTeam17that allows the player to sink into an escapist fantasy after facing the harsh realities of the world, where the protagonist loses their job to AI. They take their newfound free time as an opportunity to use a mysterious gift called “dateviators,” which personify household objects.
Date Everythingis a dating sim focused on player choice, offering its players 100 different characters to romance. The player will be able to date just about everything in their house, ranging from the stylish personified form of a pair of sunglasses, named Skylar, to a vacuum cleaner named Hoove, equipped with all his additional attachments on a tool belt.Date Everythingis a game that shows a willingness to go all out on its goofy premise, but fine-tuning the title for quality of life might have been more time-consuming than Sassy Chap had originally anticipated.
Date Everything’s release date has been pushed back from October 24, to July 25, 2025, which seems fitting, since this dating sim is now slated for a Valentine’s Day release, compared to its former Halloween arrival window.Fans of dating simsmay feel more of the holiday spirit by then. The team at Sassy Chap has stated that by moving the launch date, it aims to avoid crunch while offering gamers as much as possible in this upcoming release.
Date Everything Delayed to Valentine’s Day
Sassy Chap Games and Team17 explain thatDate Everythingis technically content-complete. However, the decision to push back its release date was made to focus on polishing the title’s 3D environments, in a move that echoes sentiments surroundingthe release ofThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. That title was finished about a year before its release, but for the benefit of players, its team wanted to make sure the physics worked as well as possible.
Date Everything’s developers are showing a similar eagerness to make sure that the game works as well as it should, fixing aspects that would lead tounfortunate post-launch bugs, potentially ruining the player’s experience. Sassy Chap explains that it wants the house to be such a well-polished environment because the player is going to be spending the bulk of their time moving around it, and the developer doesn’t want to release a title that feels cumbersome to play. As detailed as the 2D art inDate Everythinglooks, it’s a good sign to see the developer paying the same amount of attention to its 3D environments, and hopefully for fans, the game will have all necessary improvements by Valentine’s Day.
