In addition, players have been able to enjoy a wide variety of limited-time game modes, withthe favorites of these frequently returning toDead by Daylightfor fans to partake in. The most recent of these, Chaos Shuffle, ended just recently and was lauded by many fans of the game for being an enjoyable shake-up to the core gameplay loop. By randomizing the perk loadout of every player before each match, Chaos Shuffle forced gamers to experiment with new playstyles, and killed the concept of a “meta” build, as there was no way to predict what perks each player would get.

Patch 8.3.0 forDead by Daylighthas been released, introducing changes to various perks and add-ons on both sides of the game and employing various bug fixes. Many of these changes wereshowcased last month in a developer update reveal forDead by Daylight, and after a brief run on the Public Test Build (PTB), players have given feedback and the changes have been made live. The patch sees the base kit of certain killers being adjusted, as well as various nerfs and buffs to both Survivor and Killer perks. The most drastic feature besides various balance changes is the change to the “Memento Mori” offerings, Killer-exclusive offerings that allow Killers to execute Survivors under certain conditions. The Cyprus Mori, which allows the Killer to execute the final Survivor by their hand in gory, cinematic fashion, is now in the base kit for all Killers.

The Mori change players received is noticeably different from what was promised in September. Much of the fan base relented against the planned change, which was to remove the functionality of the higher-tier Mori offerings that would allow Killers to execute all Survivors in the game in favor of having the effect of the Cyprus Mori base kit, and the Mori offerings would instead offer bonus Bloodpoints for completing the Mori. Many players enjoy the ability touse the various MorisDead by Daylighthas to offer, and Behaviour Interactive decided to keep the higher tier Mori offerings as they are, allowing Killers to potentially execute all Survivors in a match if they manage to fulfill the requirements.

This new patch also introduces a brand-new Tome for gamers to work through, giving players the opportunity toearn variousCastlevania-themed cosmetics inDead by Daylight, and with 2v8 mode making a return next month, there’s plenty of new content for fans to be excited about.
