Summary
Bungie announces that the first instance of Iron Banner inDestiny 2is going to miss its early November start date by a few weeks, giving players a new launch time. It’s been a busy week for currentDestiny 2players following the launch of Episode Revenant earlier this month, followed closely by the Vesper’s Host dungeon activity.
While usually reserved for new raids, Vesper’s Host becameDestiny 2’s first dungeon with a Contest Mode race. Providing an added challenge with more aggressive enemies and a lack of power advantage for players, Bungie promised plenty of rewards for those who could finish the task including a guaranteed drop of the returningDestiny 2exotic, Ice Breaker. With Vesper’s Host now live, manyDestiny 2players are looking ahead to see what else is arriving on the calendar, though fans will have to wait just slightly longer to get their first Iron Banner fix.
In a new post on the Destiny 2 Teams social media channel, Bungie confirmed that Iron Banner isn’t going to arrive in the “early November” window that was previously mentioned. Although the post didn’t go into specifics as to why this delay is happening, Episode Revenant’s first instance of Iron Banner will be launching on November 26 instead. Bungie also confirmed that the PvP mode Control will be the first mode active for Iron Banner, with the second instance featuringDestiny 2’s Tribute game mode.

The event also brings with it a revitalized version of Archon’s Thunder, a High-Impact machine gun which has been given new perks and the Stasis element damage type. Finally, a newRocket Frame Sidearm forDestiny 2playersis being added with Tinasha’s Mastery, which also uses the Stasis damage type.
