The final encounter ofDestiny 2’sVesper’s Host dungeon is nothing short of thrilling. Players will enter the arena to see the boss commune with the massive anomaly seen in the dungeon’s artwork, before dropping down into the actual encounter arena through an airlock in the ground. This is where the rally banner can be found, but keep the airlock entryway and its location in mind for now.

How To Defeat The Corrupted Puppeteer

There are a couple of steps to this encounter:

All of the roles from the previous encounters will be utilized in this one, so make sure you are familiar with what they do:

Protocols are timed. Once players have completed their tasks, the Protocols should be banked before they expire.

Shoot The Correct Panels

In the first part of the encounter, players will be in the rally banner chamber. The boss will appear and summon two large enemies with a radiation force field around them. Avoidthese immune Fallen enemiesat all costs, as they quickly raise Radiation stacks for players. At stacks 10x, the player dies.

To deal with them, a Suppressor Protocol must be picked up from an enemy. Grab it, and start killing off these radiated enemies by creating a decoy to get rid of their radiation and then defeating them. Note thatfor as long as the fireteam remains here, these enemies will keep respawninguntil this part of the mechanic is completed.

Meanwhile, an enemy withScanner Protocolwill have spawned. Have another player pick it up andrun next to each of the four numbered pillars in the room(marked as yellow dots on the Scanner’s radar). One of them will blink white. Check whatthe blue number of that pillaris, and communicate it to the last player, who will pick Operator Protocol.

Once theOperatorhas been picked up, the playerneeds to shoot four panels in the chamber that have the number the Scanner communicated to them. For example, if the correct pillar was number 2, then the Operator must shoot four keypads with 2 on them.

Note that some keypads are behind objects and on the ceiling of the arena.

Doing this teleports the boss into the lower stacks (lower portion of the arena), and the doors on the sides will open.Only drop down on the side with blinking red lights above the Protocol banking terminal.

Bank The Two Nuclear Cores

Once dropping down on the correct side, a bunch of enemies and more radiated enemies will await players. For now, ignore them, look for doors with blinking red lights above them, and follow their path. This will lead to a room with all three Protocols inside Terminals, a bunch of keypads, and a closed-off section in the middle where the nuclear core must be dunked.

Each player should pick up their role here. The Suppressor’s job is to ensure that the radiated enemies don’t make the Scanner’s and the Operator’s job impossible while down where by using decoys to get rid of their radiation field.

Meanwhile, theOperator should shoot all four keypads scattered around the roomto prompt the boss to create four copies of itself. The Scanner will then walk to each copy to check which one of them is the correct one to kill(again, look for a yellow marker that turns white when approached). Kill that one andthe nuclear core drops.

You have a few seconds to bank it into the middle of the arena inside the pod that is slightly sunken in the ground.Make sure to bank all roles back into the terminals before entering the closed-off pod to dunk. This will make completing the upcoming part easier.

Destiny 2 Vespers Host Lightning Strikes On Boss Arena

Once the core is dunked and the doors of the pod open again, half of the boss' shield will be gone.

Players will need to head to the second room to do exactly the same thing as they just did again. To access the second room fast, had down into a basement hallway located behind where the boss stood before the nuclear core was deposited.

A bunch of tripwires and mines will be here, blocking the way. Players can clear them out or jump past them if they’re feeling confident enough. Watch out for more radiated enemies coming after you here. If players find themselves overwhelmed here, it may be a good idea for someone to pick up Suppressor for this traversal, just in case.

In the second chamber, do the exact same thing: have the Operator shoot all the keypads to force the boss to create four copies of itself. The Scanner will check who to kill for the nuclear core, which can then be banked. This begins the DPS phase.

If players fail to bank their roles while getting the first nuclear core, they will need to return to the chamber they dropped down into to find the Viral Carrier enemies with the Protocols on them and kill them.

Damaging The Corrupted Puppeteer

Players have infinite time to get back to the top of the arena. Head back to the chamber where you first dropped down to get to the nuclear core section of the encounter, and there will be a portal in the middle (take the path upstairs, not the path through the tripwired basement). This takes you back to the first arena. Once you’re ready to head up to the anomaly where you first saw the boss, enter the round chamber behind where the rally banner was placed down.

The Puppeteer’s arena is large, and the DPS windowis quite long. However, players will have to deal with his clones rushing in to hit them, as well aslightning strikes on the ground. Move around and as soon as you see your screen turn orange, try to move away from the lightning damage on the floor.

One of the Puppeteer’s copies will be glowing. This is the one players will want tokill to drop a third nuclear core. When the Puppeteercommunes with the anomaly(the message will appear on the left side of the screen and a shockwave emanates from the anomaly),grab the nuclear core and head inside the pod located on the left side of the arena. Dunk it to have cover from the wave.

After that, you can deal more damage to the boss, until another pulse arrives from the anomaly, and the round floor airlock behind you opens up. Jump down, and repeat the encounter from beginning to end until you defeat him.
