Summary

Bungie announced two new quality of life updates forDestiny 2that were not included in the patch notes for Episode Revenant, including one tweak that significantly changes how players will interact with their vault space. After weeks of teases and details regarding Episode Revenant, the day manyDestiny 2fans have been waiting for has finally arrived with the latest content and update, adding loads of changes and new things to do.

Episode Revenant brings back the Scorn leader Fikrul, who has somehow gotten his hands on one of the Echoes that appeared after The Witness was destroyed by players inside of The Traveler. While players work to put an end to Fikrul’s plans, this episode also features plenty of new content to explore, from making tonics that provide temporary buffs, adding in theVesper’s Host Dungeon and World First race, as well as providing players with a refreshed Onslaught activity that not only includes 3 new maps, but additional upgrades, defenses, and enemy types to go up against. However, this recent update also made major changes to the overall experience, including some more subtle tweaks which initially flew under the radar.

Following the release of the massiveDestiny 2Episode Revenant patch notes, apparently not everything was included. The official Destiny 2 Team social account picked out a couple quality of life changes that didn’t make it in, including that the amount of Armor Synthesis bounties available during each episode has increased. As being the main way that players can earn materials to unlock newarmor styles forDestiny 2’s transmog system, each season and episode had a hard cap of 10 that could be acquired. While the post doesn’t directly specify the new cap, the number appears to have been pushed to 18.

Destiny 2 Makes Player Vault Accessible from Anywhere

However, the big news for many fans is that the Vault is now accessible from anywhere. Just to really hammer the point home, the Tweet also confirms that players can use the vault while in an activity, givingDestiny 2players way more control over their gear and no longer having to go through the app to make changes. Players were understandably thrilled by the news and many were surprised that something like this was omitted completely from theDestiny 2Episode Revenant patch notes.

While there’s plenty of good within these patch notes, some changes have left the community a little more divided. One particular sticking point is with crafting, which some have found to be a much easier way to unlock the weapon you want, while others view it with a little more disdain for essentially making the gear chase obsolete. In an effort to reclaim some of that weapon hunting excitement,Bungie is removing deepsight fromDestiny 2Episode Revenant weapons, meaning that players can’t craft these weapons and will need to play activities to earn them as drops. Attempting to add value back to the gear chase, players will need to continue farming drops in order to have a chance to claim the roll they want.
