Destiny 2’s Episode Revenant launched on October 8, bringing a new chapter of storytelling toDestiny 2along with a variety of new activities and loot. Episode Revenant features new Artifact perks, which will namely offer new Stasis buffs, meaning thatDestiny 2’s Episode Revenantwill be another ‘Season of Stasis’ for the meta.
On the one hand, the Revenant Artifact perks once again giving Stasis the spotlight is nice to see because Stasis is arguably the weakest Subclass inDestiny 2, due to its minimal build variety. Stasis is still able to compete with the meta inDestiny 2’s PvP, but it has never been able to compete with the meta specific toDestiny 2’s endgame PvE activities. On the other hand, though, Artifact perks are only a temporary solution to the long-running problem of the Stasis Subclass underperforming.
Destiny 2’s Episode Revenant is the Perfect Time to Use Stasis Builds
Artifact perks are essentially a free upgrade to players' existing builds, oftentimes capable of making off-meta builds finally viable in certain endgame activities. So, despite the Stasis Subclasses being considered underwhelming compared toDestiny 2’s current meta, the Episode Revenant Artifact perks featuring a majority of Stasis Subclass buffs make now the perfect time for players to useStasis builds inDestiny 2.
Players can utilize some of the Stasis Artifact perks withPrismatic Subclass builds, Stasis weapons, or both, without the need to equip the Stasis Subclass.
Destiny 2: Episode Revenant Artifact Perks for Stasis Builds
Destiny 2’s Stasis Subclasses Still Can’t Compete with the Current PvE Meta
The Stasis Subclasses paved the way for Elemental pickups with Stasis Shards, as well as the 3.0 Subclass system where players can equip any combination of Subclass Aspects, Fragments, and abilities, but despite being ahead of the trends, Stasis is generally considered one of the weakestSubclasses inDestiny 2. Some of the Stasis Subclasses’ main weaknesses generally come down to a lack of build variety or survivability:
The Stasis Subclasses underperforming compared toDestiny 2’s current metaisn’t a new issue, but with the Artifact perks in Episode Revenant once again featuring Stasis buffs, this has reignited this conversation amongDestiny 2’s community. So, while more Stasis-themed Artifact perks can temporarily fix this Subclass,Destiny 2’s Stasis subclasses still arguably deserve a much more permanent and substantial buff or rework.
