On launch, leveling inDiablo 4was a bit of a tedious process, and it was daunting to start an alt or a secondary character thanks to the grind ahead. But as of Season 6,Diablo 4leveling methodshave become much easier – thanks in no small part to a major level squish that reduced the max level from 100 to 60.
With the addition of The Pit and theVessel of Hatredcampaign, it’s easier than ever toget a character to max leveland get working on your Paragon levels. But if you don’t feel like repeating theDiablo 4story, or get tired of running The Pit, there are plenty of other ways to level fast inDiablo 4whether you are trying to get to 60 or push for Paragon Points.
When going to farm XP,Diablo 4players should ensure they have an XP buff active. These can be obtained by consuming any of the Alchemist’s Elixirs or by using Incense (which both stack) for a small boost, or byusing a seasonal Seething Opalfor the max 15% buff.
Best Level 1 to 60 Leveling Methods In Diablo 4
Beat The Base D4 & Vessel of Hatred Campaigns
When you start a new character inDiablo 4: VoH, you will be asked if you want to skip the DLC campaign if you have already done so on another character. If you see this screen, do not skip the campaign – just aboutevery mainDiablo 4questgrants an entire level’s worth of XP, or close to it, making it far and away the fastest way to level inDiablo 4.
The best part of this bestDiablo 4leveling method is that you can set your Difficulty to the lowest setting (Normal) and breeze through because Difficulty does not affect quest XP. This is true for both the base and DLC campaigns.
Tread this familiar territory, but skip all cutscenes, to quickly level in the base game’s main campaign storyline to get to around Level 30 or 40, depending on your active buffs and how much side content you pick up along the way. Then, head to the DLC story to get to level 60 and even start earning Paragon points before you beatVessel of Hatred.
Take On Strongholds & Complete Whispers In Helltides
If for some reason you are not level 60 after beating both the base and DLC main quests, Strongholds and Helltides are a great way to catch up and get to max level inD4.
Best D4 Endgame Leveling Methods (Paragon Points)
Run The Pit At A Manageable Tier
Once you reach max level inDiablo 4, you can still earn up to 300 Paragon Points to build passives on up to five Paragon Boards. Youearn Paragon Points just like Leveling, except instead of a Skill Point (and instead of gaining a Level), you gain a Paragon Level. Paragon levels are shared across all characters, and slowly requires more and more XP to reach the next point.
At endgame when you have theParagon system unlocked, the fastest way to earn more Paragon Points and max out your character is to take on The Pit. The Pit is extremely fast, very enemy-dense, and drops both Obols and lets you improve your Glyphs at the end. For optimal XP farming, stick to a Pit Tier that can be completed in about three to five minutes.
Unlock Higher Torment Levels
When you run The Pit at certain Tiers, you will unlock higher Torment levels. If you increase your Difficulty level inDiablo 4, you will also increase the Gold and XP that enemies drop on defeat.
]If you can take the challenge, turn up your Torment level (and take on higher Tiers in The Pit) to boost the XP you gain from enemies significantly.
Infernal Hordes & Helltides Reward Great XP, Materials, & Other Items
If you are getting tired of running The Pit over and over again and would like a change of scenery without sacrificing too much XP per hour, consider switching over to Infernal Hordes and Helltides. Infernal Hordes give a huge chunk of XP on completion and a high chance to get high-level materials and gear, while Helltides have a huge number of enemies, events, andWhispers to farm for XPas well as Mystery chests that grant a chunk of XP when opened.
Though The Pit is the best leveling method inDiablo 4for paragon points, Infernal Hordes and Helltides also drop other items that can be useful like Boss summoning materials, high-level ingredients, and more. You might make a little bit less XP with these two methods, but you’ll be glad to have extra materials and the chance of pace.
