Summary

Capcom’sDino Crisisis now available for PS5, but the classic title is locked behind a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription. Fans have asked for theDino Crisisseries to make a comeback for years, but the community is understandably disappointed by this odd decision.

Created by Shinji Mikami, the mastermind behind theResident Evilseries,Dino Crisiswas first released for the PlayStation in 1999. The survival horror game spawned three sequels, the most recent of which was released for the Xbox in 2003. Over two decades later, the series has retained a dedicated fanbase, with Capcom admitting thatDino Crisisis one of its most requested games. While a new title in the franchise doesn’t seem to be in the works, players were thrilled to hear that the original game would be making its way to the PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, its release isn’t what many players expected.

According to theDino Crisiscreator, the massive global success ofMonster Hunter Worldin 2018 andMonster Hunter Risein 2021 served to corner the market when it comes to dinosaur-like creatures in games. Fans disagree, however, as the gameplay found inDino Crisisis entirely different and more in line with a classic survival horror romp. The title’s dedicated fanbase continues to hold out hope for a reboot or remake, though many would be happy to have the opportunity to buyDino Crisison PS4 or PS5 outright for a start.

If the demand for moreDino Crisiscontinues to amplify, Capcom may have no choice but to listen.
