With such a wide variety of worlds under the Disney umbrella, fans are constantly wondering which new characters and locations will be added toDisney Dreamlight Valley. From the buzzing central hub that is the Plaza, the vast savannas of the Sunlit Plateau, and the eerie atmosphere of the Forgotten Lands,Disney Dreamlight Valleyhas many realms to explore. However, Gameloft could add even more mystique to the game with a couple of new realms inspired byMinecraft.
The Forgotten Lands is currentlyDisney Dreamlight Valley’s most terrifying map. Many biomes inDreamlight Valleyare comparable toMinecraft’s, withDreamlight Valley’s Forgotten Lands most closely resemblingMinecraft’s Dark Forest. However, The Nether and The End don’t have counterparts inDreamlight Valley, which offers an opportunity for Gameloft.
How Dreamlight Valley Could Adapt its Own Version of The Nether
One could argue that a biome like The Nether, with its hellish and scary atmosphere, would not fit into the Disney branding and therefore could never be included inDreamlight Valley. However, the younger demographic Disney caters towards also playsMinecraft, where traversing The Nether is necessary, and Gameloft itself has added many of Disney’s villains toDreamlight Valley. With more spooky aspects ofDreamlight Valley, like Jack Skellington’s addition, proving successful, Disney has no reason to take this leap. Nevertheless, Gameloft could make a Nether inspired biome more friendly if it chooses the correct characters to include in it.
Moana and Maui are already well established characters inDreamlight Valley, with the film being one of the rare few to have a realm. However, the main antagonist ofMoana, Te Ka, has only appeared in motifs as Te Fiti. One of the quests players can get from Maui is called“The Heart of Dreamlight Valley”, mimicking the plot ofMoanain which the titular character and Maui go on an adventure to restore the heart of Te Fiti. However, it is revealed at the end of the film that Te Fiti was transformed into the volcanic goddess Te Ka, and upon receiving her heart from Moana and Maui, is transformed back into Mother Earth.
Disney Dreamlight Valleyhas added characters from a property after previously introducing the property into the game many updates prior. For example, the recent Jungle Getaway updateadded Timon and Pumbaa toDreamlight Valleydespite Simba being an available character for quite some time. Te Ka could be added into this hypothetical Nether-like expansion, with the Heart of Dreamlight Valley quest either becoming revised to fit this addition, or a new quest entirely being added into the game.
Another property that could fuel a Nether-like expansion toDreamlight ValleyisLilo & Stitch. As one of Disney’s most popular characters, it would be unsurprising to see Stitch added toDreamlight Valleyat some point, likely with his own realm and biome. WithLilo & Stitchtaking place in Hawaii, a volcanic biome could easily be justified asDreamlight Valleyhas already includeda beach biome with Dazzle Beach. Though volcanoes are not extremely prevalent in theLilo & Stitchfilm, Waialeale Peak is a volcano seen inLilo & Stitch: The Series. Stitch’s friendly and mischievous face contrasted with fiery volcanoes could be the balance Gameloft and Disney would be searching for when creating a Nether-like biome.
How Dreamlight Valley Could Adapt its Own Version of The End
The End would be a tad more challenging to adapt. As a space-like dimension made up of islands,The End is a stark contrastnot just to the realms found inDisney Dreamlight Valley, butMinecraftitself. However, The End’s biggest boss could give Gameloft the pointers it needs to adapt this biome to the Disney brand.
Despite having a literal castle in Disneyland, none ofSleeping Beauty’s characters have made it toDisney Dreamlight Valley. Maleficent’s dragon form could work as a perfectcounterpart to The End’s Ender Dragon, giving players another quest to conquer. While the endless briars and thorns ofSleeping Beautymight not fit the same barren aesthetic as The End, they do look quite similar to chorus plants.
Additionally, Maleficent and this biome could be included in a Halloween update. ThoughDreamlight Valley’s 2024 Halloween planshave already been revealed, this new biome could generate quite a buzz next year.Dreamlight Valleyhas quite a ways to go before it reaches as many biomes asMinecraft, but taking a few cues from Mojang could makeDisney Dreamlight Valleyeven more dreamy.
