With ten years passing betweenThe Veilguardand the last majorDragon Agegame,Inquisition, developer BioWare and publisher EA have a chance to revive what was once seen as a tentpole RPG franchise in the eyes of both dedicated fans and newcomers. In fact, the game sometimes comes across like a curious blending of old and new. Its story continues on a thread established by theDragon Age: InquisitionTrespasser DLC and brings forward some fan-favorite characters from that game, likeInquisitionNPC Lace Hardingand the Inquisitor’s former ally Solas. Yet it also seems to be trying something new forDragon Age, in the form of a more action-inflected combat system where players control a single character, the customizable protagonist Rook, and explore areas of theDragon Ageworld of Thedas that have never been seen before, like the Tevinter Imperium.
