Summary

Dragon Ballhas techniques that are situational and not intended to damage the opponent, but one of them has the potential to seal away a Demon King, along with an Immortal God if push came to shove. This technique was the Evil Containment Wave, a force that Master Roshi used against an opponent he believed was unbeatable by any human at the time. The truth was that the Evil Containment Wave is a last-ditch effort to seal away the enemy for a long time so long as there is a proper sealing vessel. InDragon Ball, this technique is useful.

The Evil Containment Waveisn’t used very often by many people. Still, it does bear mentioning that the ability itself was not originally conceived to be livable or easy to use at the time. This begs the question of what details about this technique should be known, as well as why this was an important technique.

Earliest Origins And Uses

The Wave’s Usage

The technique itself is really simple in execution, but drastic in effects on the user as well as the individual being sealed away. After all, the Evil Containment Wave was made by Master Mutaito, Roshi’s previous master, to seal awayKing Piccolo during a rampage. He needed a sealing vessel and a Demon Seal, the former using a rice cooker as the vessel to seal away the Demon King. The technique requires an immense amount of stamina and force to use it properly to seal away the enemy inside the vessel, effectively sealing them permanently so long as the Demon Seal isn’t removed.

Cease fire and surrender,Piccolo, or you will face the consequences. - Master Mutaito

It’s no wonder that the Evil Containment Wave, when used on the proper enemy with comparable life forces, the user can seal away evil individuals, and even gods if the wave successfully lands. However, the onlyreal issue with this techniqueis that if the individual doesn’t have that much life force, they may pass away and die shortly after, even if the technique is a success. The previously mentioned Master Mutaito died after sealing away King Piccolo the first time, and Master Roshi was also a victim of this technique, narrowly failing to seal King Piccolo away.

While this technique hasn’t been used ever since the King Piccolo arc, itremains important to the storyand the technique of Master Roshi in the Tournament of Power. This ability was used as a last resort and a useful one at that, when Fused Zamasu’s immortality became an issue. Goku used the ability to successfully put Fused Zamasu in a small pot, although due to forgetting to bring a Demon Seal, Fused Zamasu broke free shortly after.

The Effects And Users

Why Is This Technique Useful?

Out of the many usages of this technique, there have been only a few users who have died due to the Evil Containment Wave, but all users of the technique have felt the exerted effects of using your stamina to seal away a great evil into a tiny object. After all, the ability requires stamina, control, and an aim to be able to seal it away in a vessel without missing. Master Mutaito and Master Roshi have both died of the technique, although the latter grew strong enough to be able to use the technique consecutively, even with the stamina cost making him run out of energy.

Before the Tournament of Power, Goku had the idea to use the Evil Containment Wave to capture the Immortal Zamasu, and later on Fused Zamasu into a bottle, so that the enemy would be sealed away permanently. Goku used the ability to practice and see if it worked, and so he alsotaught the technique to Future Trunks, who used it successfully and managed to put Fused Zamasu into the vessel. However, because there was no seal to complete it, Fused Zamasu managed to break free and cause more havoc.

Ultimately, the effects and users of this technique have proven its viability and usefulness when against an opponent that is stronger and unable to be killed. There are a variety of similar techniques or phenomena that work the same way as the Evil Containment Wave, albeit it’s much more practical since it can be taught and doesn’t just happen out of nowhere. However, this technique has not been used often becauseDragon Ballhaschanged to be a show with transformations, climactic battles, and overall explosive powers that are different from just needing to seal away an enemy from the world into a vessel. The Evil Containment Wave, sadly, hasn’t seen much use, occasionally being used as a technique to temporarily seal an opponent away. With the villains growing stronger and more destructive, the Evil Containment Wave doesn’t seem like a viable option as much as it used to be anymore.

Even with that, the Evil Containment Wave is a move that is a last-ditch effort that has been useful for the majority of its runtime.Dragon Ballmay still have a use for it shortly, especially if it is brought back briefly.
