Summary
Monkey D. Luffy and Monkey D. Dragon are two of the most popularOne Piececharacters. Despite being related by blood, the two have only ever shared the screen on one occasion, leaving fans with plenty of questions about their relationship.
However, Eiichiro Oda’s questionnaire might finally shed light on Dragon and Luffy’s relationship. The One Piece author will answer ten questions about different things related to the manga. One ofthe questions is about Monkey D. Dragonand his son Luffy. The question is whether Dragon has lived with Luffy or not.
Monkey D. Dragon And Luffy’s Past
One Piece manga has released over 1100 chapters, but readers still do not know whether Luffy and Dragon lived together at some point. From the flashbacks, it is clear that Luffy was left in Garp’s care at a young age. This can only mean two things:
At this point, it seems that Luffy and Dragon never lived together. Dragon was a part of the Marines for a while, but he left the organization after witnessing the corruption. Following his departure, Dragon started the Freedom Fighters, an impoverished group that dreamed of freeing the oppressed.
The group’s success was rather limited, which led to Dragon changing his approach and ultimatelyfounding the Revolutionary Army. As the leader of an elite organization, Dragon would hardly have the time to do other things. So, it makes perfect sense that Dragon might have even missed his son’s birth.
Oda’s Remaining Questions
On Tuesday, the first question from Oda’s Q&A was revealed, and it was about Luffy’s Gear 5th. Oda will talk about the cloud-shaped ring that covers Luffy’s back and neck. The author will divulge what allows Luffy to create things like goggles and other items from the cloud.
Aside from these questions, Oda will answer eight other questions about the One Piece manga. The Q&A will be published in the 49th issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump, which will go on sale on November 5th, 2024. Not everyone will have access to the issue, but the answers will likely be circulated all over social networking platforms.
The One Piece animeis on a break till April 2025, and in the meantime, it will air remastered episodes from the Fish-Man Island arc. The remastered variant will have better pacing and likely better animation.
The One Piece manga will also be going on a break for two weeks as Oda wants to help with the production of the live-action. Oda has been heavily involved with the series, as he does not want the adaptation to be too different.
One Piece manga is available to read on the official Viz website.
