Summary

Destiny 2’s Episodes have had a bit of a rough start with Echoes, despite any attempts made to improve the overall experience. However,Destiny 2’s next Episode, titled “Revenant,“may be helping the game achieve what it has been trying to for the last few months, as it aims to bring a multitude of features and changes toDestiny 2that might be enough to lure waning players back in for another extended round.

Perhaps the biggest, most contextual feature coming toDestiny 2with Episode: Revenant is its story.Destiny 2’s first episode, Echoes, centered around the Vex, but Revenant’s story is all about the Scorn. Episode: Echoes saw one of the echoes falling to Maya Sundaresh, and, in the same way, one of the echoes will now be falling to Fikrul, the Fanatic. Just as the first episode’s echo caused the Vex to behave differently, something similar will happen to the Scorn in Episode: Revenant, causing them to evolve beyond what they have been before. This story will bring along with it several new features and changes to the game that players should be aware of.

Every Major Feature Coming to Destiny 2 Episode: Revenant

Episode: Revenant Will See Guardians Crafting Helpful Tonics in the Apothecary

To counter the changes happening to the Scorn and Fikrul’s desire to raise an army,Guardians will partner with Mithrax, the Kell of House Light, and his daughter Eido. Eido’s expertise in herbology and ancient Eliksni lore will then come in handy as she helps create valuable tonics for the team that will empower them to hold off the Scorn army until the threat has been eliminated. These tonics will be produced in the Apothecary, and will come in two forms: Volatile Tonics and Enriching Tonics.

Volatile Tonics boost stats and the effects of certain Artifact Perks, while Enriching Tonics increase the rewards earned by defeating enemies and completing activities.

Episode: Revenant Will Include the Slayer Baron Apothecary Satchel Artifact With New Artifact Perks

In fact, the Slayer Baron Apothecary Satchel Artifact will feature the most Stasis mods that have ever been on aDestiny 2Artifact. Frost Armor plays a key role in these Artifact Perks to increase Guardians' resistance to Stasis, as they can get within close quarters of enemies and benefit from increased close-range combat proficiency. As usual, the Artifact will also offeranti-Champion mods that buff certain weapons.

Episode: Revenant Will Introduce the Vesper’s Host Dungeon Three Days After Launch

The Contest Mode will last for 48 hours, upon which those who have completed it within that time frame will earn exclusive rewards.

Episode: Revenant Will Introduce Onslaught: Salvation With New Maps, Upgrades, and Defenses

Another major change coming toDestiny 2with Episode: Revenant directly affects Onslaught. Specifically,a new Onslaught mode called “Onslaught: Salvation"will be introduced, along with three new maps for the game mode, one of which is Widow’s Court. Unlike normal Onslaught, Onslaught: Salvation will honor players' Power Level, allowing them to eventually overpower enemies. The new mode will also provide additional upgrades and defenses — including a manual turret that hasn’t been around since the firstDestiny, an air strike that players can call down on enemies, and trip mines that initially create Stasis fields but can be upgraded to fire Stasis crystals.
