NCSoft’sThrone and Libertygives players several different options when it comes to character classes, so it can be a difficult choice to make. Thankfully,Throne and Liberty’s unique class system allows for plenty of customization so players can create the character that best suits their playstyle.
Throne and Libertydoesn’t featuretraditional RPG classes, but its weapon-based class system allows players to choose from seven unique playstyles. Players can equip two ofThrone and Liberty’s seven weapons to maximize their efficiency on the battlefield and tailor the game’s combat to their playstyle.
Throne and Liberty’s Tank and Support Classes
The Sword and Shield Provides High Survivability but Increases Responsibility in a Group
As it is with the same weapon setup in most RPGs,Throne and Liberty’s Sword and Shield arguably make up the best weapon combo for beginners, as it provides plenty of survivability and is one of the most accessible playstyles in the game. Unfortunately, this ultimately means that the damage output for the Sword and Shield is lower than otherweapons inThrone and Liberty, although it can be a tremendous help when coupled with high-damage weapons like the Greatsword or Staff. With the Sword and Shield, players can drag enemies in close and stun them for a big advantage in battle.
The accessibility of the Sword and Shield is significantly decreased when playing with a group, especially one that is largely dependent on the player with the Sword and Shield to protect the rest of the party. Sword and Shield users can take pressure off their allies with useful taunting and crowd-control skills, but abilities like these put a massive amount of responsibility on them to protect the rest of their group. As such, whileThrone and Liberty’s Sword and Shieldis one of the most accessible playstyles in the game for solo players, that sentiment mostly flips on its head when the player is in a group.
The Wand and Tome Provide Healing and Support
Throne and Libertyprimarily has one healing and support class, so should players be more inclined to be a big help to their group in battle, they should look no further than theWand and Tome weapon combo. Despite not being a damage-dealing class, the Wand and Tome inThrone and Libertyare highly versatile in the area of support. With the Wand and Tome, players can heal themselves and their allies, as well as provide helpful buffs, and ensure enemies are vulnerable to damage by weakening them.
This isn’t to say that the Wand and Tome can’t be used by solo players inThrone and Liberty, as the healing skills they provide grant solo players plenty of survivability in battle. However, the Wand and Tome’s damage is on the lower end when compared to weapons that prioritize damage. As such, coupling the Wand and Tome with the Greatsword or Long Bow inThrone and Libertycan lead to plenty of victories. Additionally, coupling the Wand and Tome with the Sword and Shield can make players nigh unstoppable.
Throne and Liberty’s Main Damage-Dealing Classes
The Greatsword Deals High Melee Damage
Melee players who enjoy dealing massive amounts of damage in exchange for limited survivability might prefer usingThrone and Liberty’s Greatsword. One of the main benefits of using the Greatsword is its ability to deal high area-of-effect damage, as opposed to the single-target damage that weapons like the Crossbow are limited to. Greatswords can also stun enemies inThrone and Liberty, which can contribute toward a bit more survivability.
TheGreatsword is often combined with DaggersinThrone and Libertyto ensure players have plenty of mobility in addition to its damage output. That being said, the Greatsword also pairs really well with a high-survivability weapon like the Sword and Shield or Wand and Tome.
The Long Bow Is a Highly Accessible and Powerful Ranged Weapon
Throne and Liberty’s Long Bow is the weapon of choice for those who prefer to stay outside the reach of enemies and still deal plenty of damage. The Long Bow has a big advantage in comparison to other weapons inThrone and Liberty, as it is highly efficient in both PvE and PvP, as well as both solo and group play.
The Long Bow is very easy to use inThrone and Liberty, especially for players who are familiar with archery-based classes in otherMMOs likeWorld of Warcraft. InThrone and Liberty’s solo play, the Long Bow increases players' survivability by keeping them separate from their enemies, all while dishing out a considerable amount of damage. The weapon also includes its own self-healing skills. In cooperative play,Throne and Liberty’s Long Bow provides players with plenty of support skills that can enhance their allies' stealth recovery and also root enemies in place.
The Crossbow Is the Best Ranged Weapon for Single-Target Damage
The Crossbow, while it might initially be perceived as nothing more than a faster Long Bow, is the best ranged weapon for single-target damage inThrone and Liberty. Like the Long Bow,Throne and Liberty’s Crossbowprovides players with high survivability by creating distance between themselves and their enemies. The Crossbow also grants players a Crossbow in both hands, which allows them to deal continuous damage with very little downtime.
As it deals such considerable single-target damage, it’s a great choice forThrone and Liberty’s bosses and beefier enemies.
The Staff Deals Powerful Magic Damage
Throne and Liberty’s Staff represents its Mage class and functions similarly to most casterclasses in other MMOs. Firstly, the Staff deals massive elemental and area-of-effect damage, but, as is the case with magic-based classes in other games, it has very poor survivability. Nevertheless, if players are able to get on top of the skillset thatThrone and Liberty’s Staff provides, they can defeat enemies before they’re even able to reach players. The main area where the Staff falls short is in single-target damage, so it can be most effective when paired with the Crossbow or a high-survivability class like the Sword and Shield.
The Dagger Specializes in Critical Strikes and Mobility
Just as the Staff and Long Bow do,Throne and Liberty’s Dagger features a fairly stereotypical playstyle in that it specializes in critical strikes and high mobility. Firstly, Dagger players can eliminate enemies inThrone and Libertyrather quickly, thanks to the damage output provided by frequent critical strikes. Secondly,Throne and Liberty’s Dagger has a decent amount of survivability that comes with it, thanks to its improved evasiveness. Unfortunately, the Dagger might be considered one ofThrone and Liberty’s more difficult classesto learn, as it often requires players to strategically position themselves in order to be effective, and it is typically more suited for PvP than PvE gameplay.
