This map seed scatters all resources, and your starting area is surrounded by biter nests. You’ll need toskillfully establish early game extraction and smelting setup and prepare for constant biter attacks. Accessing further away resource deposits isn’t going to be easy either, as you’ll first need to clear out the biter nests and prepare for potential evolution. While you won’t have trouble finding oil deposits nearby, they too are surrounded by two large biter nests.
Succeeding on this map requires prioritizing military scienceand relying on trains to access resources from deposits further away from your starting area.

If your goal is to build a mega base but also to test your defensive skills against aggressive biters, this map seed will challenge your ability to defend against recurring biter attacks and resource management skills. In addition to the biter threat, the terrain also features large sections of forests, and you’ll need to clear them out to access land for expansion.Clearing out forests means a spike in pollution, and pollution enrages biters.
As you enter the late game and decide to expand your base, the evolved biters will prove to be a tough challenge. However, with sophisticated military science, it’s not only possible to overcome the biter threat, but it also gets quite fun.

Island With Three Tight Chokepoints For Easy Defense
This map spawns you in the middle of a large island with decent resource deposits. The island is surrounded by a large water body and only has three narrow passages that connect it to the mainland. Defending these chokepoints with mines and turrets will be sufficient to ward off mid and late-game biter attacks.
The downside to building your factory on this map is that it does not favor expansion, and choosing to expand regardless will inevitably create new openings for the biters to sabotage the base. So, if your goal is to build a compact factory and just launch the rocket, and factory expansion is not on the table, this map seed should offer a pleasant experience.

Sprawling Landmass With Abundant Resources — Perfect For Trains!
This map seed is ideal for engineers who wish to largely connect their base through railways. The abundance of resource deposits in close proximity allows you to establish railways sooner than one normally does. The landmass is also large enough to expand in the late game or post rocket launch.
While this map seed encourages railway setups, it does not go easy on you when it comes to dealing with biters. Normally, biters don’t attack train tracks, but they can attack electric poles, which may disrupt logistics if a train station loses access to power. So, you’ll need to plan your railways strategically and defend railway stations with turrets and mines.
