Fallout: New Vegasis getting a Halloween makeover just in time for spooky season thanks to the work of one horror-loving modder. A recently releasedFallout: New Vegasmod adds some new slasher movie-inspired weapons and wearable gear for Couriers to suit up in, while also placing encounters with Psycho enemies in specific locations across the game’s map.
Fallout New Vegaswas released in October 2010 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Despite having launched nearly 14 years and two full console generations ago, it’s enjoying a lengthy lifespan, thanks in part to its large and active modding community. On popular site Nexus Mods, the game sits comfortably in the top five most modded games, with a whopping 915Fallout: New Vegasmod collectionsavailable for download.
This new holiday-themed mod, which goes by the name Halloween Special - Wasteland Psychos and Serial Killers and was uploaded by user piromods, adds three different pumpkin head masks, a bloody Serial Killer Hockey Mask clearly inspired by theFriday the 13thmovies, and four outfits that provide different sets of stat boosts. While gunsligers get left out in the cold with this mod, it provides close-up fighting fans with a Grim Reaper Scythe melee weapon with two special weapon mods to lower its weight or increase its durability, as well as craftable pumpkin grenades. The grenades release a toxic orange cloud that may cause enemies to enter rage mode and attack anything that comes near them, and while the creator noted that effect was borrowed from theBatmanfranchise, the design sounds like something out of The Green Goblin’s playbook.

Players will be able to find these characters at Matthews Animal Husbandry Farm, the Sunset Sarsaparilla Billboard near Snyder Prospector Camp, the highway near Cannibal Johnson’s Cave, the woods on the way to Jacobstown, and an abandoned building in Freeside for a meeting of the monsters.
