Summary
Final Fantasy 14announced that the automatic housing demolition timers are temporarily paused in light of the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene in the eastern US.Final Fantasy 14stated that the pause in auto-demolitions is only in effect for players on the Aether, Primal, Crystal, and Dynamis Data Centers.
As one of the largest facets ofFinal Fantasy 14, player housing is limited to players and Free Companies who have enough Gil and luck to obtain a plot of virtual land. BeforeEndwalker,Final Fantasy 14players purchased housing plots on a first-come, first-served basis. Since then,Final Fantasy 14has utilized a lottery systemto determine ownership of an open plot of land, which a house can subsequently be built upon.Final Fantasy 14currently has five housing districts, each further divided into 30 wards with 60 plots. This means that there are only 9,000 housing plots perFinal Fantasy 14server at the time of writing.
While housing inFinal Fantasy 14remains competitive, Square Enix offered some players a reprieve from the pressure of logging in.According to the Lodestone, the automatic demolition timers forFinal Fantasy 14player housing were paused on the Aether, Primal, Crystal, and Dynamis Data Centers in North America, effective October 2 at 4:08 AM Eastern. Square Enix stated that the pause in the auto-demolitions is due tothe damage caused by Hurricane Helenethroughout the eastern US, which caused widespread property damage, power, and internet outages. Under normal circumstances,Final Fantasy 14players or Free Company leaders must enter their houses at least once per 45 days, or the game will automatically demolish the plot.
Final Fantasy 14 Automatic Housing Demolitions Paused
