Summary
New details about the final wave of content forThe Simpsons: Tapped Outhas been leaked. Developer EA Mobile still seems to have several months of content planned forThe Simpsons: Tapped Outafter its fate was officially decided in late September.
Since its inception in 2012,The Simpsons: Tapped Outhas allowed players to rebuild the iconic city of Springfield on their smartphones. In the game, Homer accidentally destroys the city after neglecting his power plant duties to goof off on his myPad. Because it makes sense to put the future of Springfield in the hands of Homer Simpson, he and his daughter Lisa are tasked with rebuilding the city and bringing back popular characters from the show. Unfortunately,The Simpsons: TappedOutwill soon be shut downand delisted from app stores on October 31.
Until then, it looks like players will still be able to enjoy a wave of new holiday-themed content, with Reddit user PrimalPokemonPlayer posting to the game’s subreddit and showing off images of the upcoming additions. Players who still haveThe Simpsons: Tapped Outinstalled as of October 31can enjoy some holiday cheer with new sculptures created by the in-game character Delbert Fornby. Comments on the post also noted that players can enjoy Lenny’s House as part of the update.
The Last Wave of Content for The Simpsons: Tapped Out is Holiday-Themed
PrimalPokemonPlayer continues the post, highlighting that developer EA Mobile likely had a lot of things planned for the game when it was canceled. Commenters replied to the post with their theories of what else will be involved in the final update. Other replies discuss whether Gil, Springfield’s most unsuccessful businessman, will finally be added to the game before it shuts down. Unfortunately, the developer doesn’t own the rights toThe SimpsonsIP, so it’s likely that some of the characters that players are hoping to see will not be added.
EA Mobile has not given an official reason for shutting downThe Simpsons: Tapped Out. However, it’s possible that the game doesn’t make the developer enough money to justify keeping it online despite including microtransactions. Fans ofThe Simpsons: Tapped Outwill have to clock outofficially on Jun 04, 2025 when the game shuts down completely, but until then, EA Mobile will give dedicated fans one last gift before taking the title offline.
