However,World of Warcraftalso revealed another important detail aboutCataclysm Classic’s future that fans should be aware of. In a post on Twitter, the officialWoW ClassicDevs account spoke about the increased acquisition rate of Dragonwrath. During the same announcement, it confirmed Rage of the Firelands would extend beyond the previously-announced end date in January 2025. This means Hour of Twilight, the final content update ofCataclysm, will arrive inClassicno sooner than February 2025.

WoW: Cataclysm Classic Hour of Twilight Delayed

The original January 2025 release window for Hour of Twilight was revealed on theWoW: Cataclysm Classicroadmap during BlizzCon 2023. WithCataclysm Classicitself having begun on May 20, Hour of Twilight was originally slated to release a mere seven months after the expansion itself, significantly faster thanBurning Crusade Classic, which had 11 months between its launch and the final raid, and even more so thanWrath of the Lich King Classic’s 16-month gap.

At present, there is no confirmation of how long this delay will last. That said, it is unlikely to be more than a month or two, so players can likely expect Hour of Twilight to arrive next February or March. Dragonwrath itself takes between four and 12 weeks to create depending on raid difficulty, so the extension should give guilds the chance to finish a couple moreLegendaries inWoW: Cataclysm Classicbefore the final patch arrives.

There’s no telling what exactly is in store forClassicfans after Hour of Twilight yet, but some recently-discovered mounts might hold a clue. Sha-corrupted tiger and cloud serpentmounts were recently discovered on theWoW: Cataclysm ClassicPublic Test Realm, which could hint that an announcement forMists of Pandaria Classicis imminent. Players should keep an eye on the upcomingWarcraftDirect planned for later this year, as it would be a logical place forWoWto make such an announcement if it is happening.
