Blumhouse recently held a showcase at New York Comic-Con 2024, which included some new details aboutFive Nights at Freddy’s 2.Most importantly, Blumhouse released the first poster forFive Nights at Freddy’s 2,restating its release date of May 24, 2025, and hinting at a new character in the sequel. The poster showcases a giant number ‘2’ alongside the face of an animatronic partially hidden behind a red curtain. The distinct plastic design of the animatronic is different from those of the animatronic characters introduced so far, and many quickly recognized the face as belonging to Toy Freddy.
Toy Freddy Will Make Live Action Debut in Five Nights at Freddy’s Sequel
Introducing Toy Freddy inFive Nights at Freddy’s 2means the sequel is following the trajectory of Scott Cawthon’s game franchise, which also introduced the character in its second game.The secondFNAFgame followed a similar structureto the first, with the player tasked with stopping the haunted animatronics from breaching the security office. However, the player also gained some new skills in the second game to help them survive, one being a Fazbear mascot head that allowed them to blend in. The plot of the game remained simple, with the player controlling a new security guard named Jeremy Fitzgerald, who goes up against a new and enhanced set of animatronics.
The ending of the firstFNAFmovie saw Mike and his younger sister, Abby, solving the mystery of the haunted animatronics, revealing they were possessed by the souls of children murdered by William Afton (Matthew Lillard). The animatronics turned on Afton and left him to die in his animatronic suit, meanwhile, Mike and Abby escaped the collapse of the Pizzeria.
