Summary
With theMCUconstantly recasting various characters while bringing back previous versions for cameos if nothing else, more than one actor and actress have been asked in recent days and weeks whether they might be willing to return to reprise a character they played, especially if that character was featured before the MCU even existed.
Withvarious cameos inDeadpool and Wolverine, from pre-MCUcharacters like Elektra, Blade and X-23 there was also an appearance that might hint at some other oldFantastic Fouractors eventually returning. And there is at least one actress who would be more than willing to make an appearance in a new movie, if Kevin Feige and company decided they wanted her back.
Marvel Actress Willing To Return To Old Role
In the wake ofChris Evans reprising his roleas Johnny Storm in Deadpool and Wolverine, Jessica Alba recently talked toPeopleabout whether she would be willing to once again take on the role of Sue Storm from the previous twoFantastic Fourmovies. In the interview she said that would of course be happy to step into the shoes of The Invisible Woman, as long as Marvel really wanted her to come back. However, he answer seems to indicate that she’s never had any communication with anyone from Marvel, or any of the upcoming movies asking her to return. But it’s clear she would be willing to do so if anyone came calling.
“[I’d be open to] anything in the Marvel universe. I’m a fan of all the superhero stories, and it was a great time in my life. So yeah, if they would have me, sure.”
Alba was one of the original Marvel movie starts of the modern era, though she was obviously a part of those films well before the MCU was even a concept. She appeared in bothFantastic FourandFantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. However that movie series was eventually discontinued, only to have Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm be played by a new set of actors. However, after just one movie, that version of the powerful foursome was scrapped as well. There are now plans to launch an official version of the Fantastic Four with amovie titledFantastic Four: First Steps. In this film, Vanessa Kirby has been cast as Sue Storm.
While the officialMCUversion of The Invisible Woman has been recast as someone else entirely, it’s hardly out of the realm of possibility that Jessica Alba could eventually make a cameo appearance as a denizen of the multiverse.Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madnessalready had another member of the Fantastic Four make this kind of appearance when John Krasinski played a version of Reed Richards, who was killed off quite horrifically by The Scarlet Witch as she rampaged through alternate realities in a quest to capture America Chavez so Wanda could use her powers. While it seems unlikely there will be asimilar storyline involving Alba, she’s made it clear she’s willing to come back should someone come up with that kind of idea.
