Unfortunately, a couple of hours before downtime was supposed to start, Epic Games announced that it would be delaying server shutdown for a few hours to make the final touches on theFortniteHalloween update. However, just a little over an hour later, it announced that the update would be rescheduled for the following day, which felt like a letdown for many fans who had set alarms so they could be ready as soon as it became available. Downtime for patch v31.40 has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 12 at 2 AM ET.
