Summary
Fortnitehas patched the popular trick that allowed players to gift bundles at a reduced price to their friends, a trick many in the community had been using for quite some time. Now, players will not be able to gift their friends aFortnitebundle at all if the other person already owns one of the items, and fans aren’t happy about the change.
Fortnitefans are in for an exciting few weeks ahead, with the much-awaited Halloween event taking place, followed by the release of Chapter 5 Season 5 in early November.Fortnite’s Fortnitemares update has turned out to be an absolute hitso far, adding a plethora of exciting content and collaborations. Apart from featuring Billy the Puppet from the Saw franchise, the update also marks the return of some fan-favorite items such as Wood Stake Shotgun, Pumpkin Launcher, and Witch Broom. However, another change that was rolled out as part of the Fortnitemares update hasn’t been well received by fans.
As highlighted in a new tweet by popularFortniteleaker ShiinaBR,Epic Games is making a significant change to gifts in the game going forward. After the release ofFortnite’s Fortnitemares update, players will no longer be able to gift a bundle to their friend if the other person already owns any of the items that are present in the bundle. This essentially patches the gifting trick altogether, something that players have been using to buy skins for cheap for a long time.
How Does the Fortnite Bundle Gifting Glitch Work?
One of the skins fans frequently used this trick for wasFortnite’s The Incredibles bundle. To start, players would buy Mrs. Incredible for 1,500 V-Bucks and Frozone for 1,800 V-Bucks. Then, if someone gifted the Incredibles bundle to this account from a different account, it would cost only 200 V-Bucks. Players often used their second account or a friend’s account for this. After receiving the bundle, players would then cancel their purchases for Mrs. Incredible and Frozone, and get their 3,300 V-Bucks back. Essentially, this meant that one could get the entire Incredibles bundle for merely 200 V-Bucks.
Fans are particularly unhappy about the fix that was implemented. Since partial bundles are no longer giftable, this change also affects players who were not exploiting this glitch, preventing them from sending certainskin gifts to their friends inFortnite. The only good news is that players who exploited the glitch still have their purchase intact.
