Summary
A newGenshin Impactleak has revealed that update 5.2 might introduce some of the largest changes to the way certain elemental reactions work.Genshin Impact’s combat system allows players to combine the elements of their four party characters to trigger various elemental reactions that have different effects.
At the moment, some elemental reactions perform much better than others, and players have been asking HoYoverse for balance adjustments for a long time. One ofGenshin Impact’s main issues currently is that players need to rely on the same supportive characters, such as Bennett, Xiangling, or Xingqiu, to maximize the damage potential of their team composition.
With the release of new unique combat mechanics, such as Fontaine’s Pneuma and Ousia energy types, or Natlan’s Nightsoul system,Genshin Impact’s meta has been constantly changing. Additionally, the release of theGenshin Impact’s Dendro elementadded many new reactions that also heavily impacted the meta shift. Even though the meta evolved with these new combat mechanics, some of the older elemental reactions did not undergo any changes. Aposton the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed many interesting damage multiplier changes that will affect some of the original elemental reactions, including Superconduct, Electro-Charged, Shatter, and Overload.
Genshin Impact Leaks Changes to 4 Elemental Reaction Multipliers
These changes will directly impact the overall damage potential of certain characters and their go-to team compositions. Superconduct can be triggered by combining Cryo with Electro and vice versa. It deals AoE Cryo damage while reducing the target’s Physical RES, which could bringGenshin Impact’s Physical DPS units, such as Eula, back to the meta. The recently announced Ororon might be the perfect character for this type of party. Shatter is one of the most neglected elemental reactions in the game, as it can be triggered by using a Geo or heavy attack on an enemy affected by Frozen.
Many fans have pointed out that doubling the damage multiplier is a step in the right direction, but they still want HoYoverse to make Frozen more efficient inGenshin Impact’s boss fights. Electro-Charged is another AoE elemental reaction that deals additional damage when players combine Electro and Hydro, as this reaction is great when fighting groups of enemies.
According to many comments, players are mostly excited about Overload since it’s one of the most funelemental reactions inGenshin Impact, causing an explosion and a knock-back effect when Pyro and Electro are combined. This elemental reaction can also trigger the Shatter effect. Travelers seem to be caught by surprise by these leaks, considering that HoYoverse rarely introduces such significant balance adjustments.
