One of the most defining things in aZeldagame is the bosses. They are puzzles unto themselves because there is usually a trick to vanquishing them. For example,King Dodongo inThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Timeneeds to swallow bombs. He will get weakened enough for players to attack it directly with a sword.

Thebosses inThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdomnaturally have a puzzle aspect to their fights as well. They may not be the hardest bosses in theZeldaseries, but they can certainly put up a fight. Let’s rank out the hardest ones.

Null in The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

6Null

The Final Boss Is Challenging But Not The Ultimate One

Null is finally revealed in this boss fight, and it looks like a bigger and more deformed version of Tri. Even though it is the final boss, it is not the hardest in the game, surprisingly. If players kept up with their side quests, Zelda should be pretty powerful by this point in the campaign.

Also, with the assistance of Link, the combined force is a bit OP. That said, this battle is driven more by stamina than strength since Null has three forms, the middle of which is an interesting 2D battle, a rarity in the game and overall series. While not exactly easy, players probably won’t die if they come in prepared. It’s also a novel idea to have the two heroes fight alongside each other.

Mogryph in The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

5Mogryph

This Mole Has The Power Of Speed And Flight

Mogryph will probably be the second major boss players fight if they go to the Gerudo Desert area. It’s located in theGerudo Sanctum ofThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. At first, it behaves like a fast mole, ramming into players and chucking sand like nobody’s business. After damaging it enough times, it will then grow wings, which is a wild transformation.

Its speed and use of sand cyclones make this boss a tricky one. The best way to defeat it is to surround Zelda with heavy stones and pray Mogryph will speed into them, stunning it long enough to get a few sword strokes in withEchoes of Wisdom’sSwordfighter form.

Vocavor in The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

4Vocavor

Water Bosses Are As Tough As Water Levels

Vocavor is the main boss of theJabul Ruins inThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and it looks like a giant shrimp blended with a seahorse. This boss fight involves a lot of chasing as it will glide in between water pillars with ease while players will struggle to keep up.

Hopefully, players had bought the Zora’s Flippers accessory in the River Zora Village to help them swim faster. The easiest way to defeat Vocavor is to throw a Bombfish at it, which should pop all of its back bubbles. Once those are broken, it will fall and allow players to whack it.

Lord Jabu-Jabu in The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

3Lord Jabu-Jabu

A Kirby Style Aquatic Boss

Lord Jabu-Jabu is a recurring character within the Zelda franchise who is typically linked tothe Zora people. InThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, it has been infected with the void’s darkness. This will be a pre-boss before getting into the Jabul Ruins, and he is tougher than Vocavor. The arena is small and Lord Jabu-Jabu will send out minions from his mouth to attack players and anything they are trying to craft in the water.

Eventually, he will start to suck in Kirby-style and when that happens, players need to drop a Bombfish in the water. When Lord Jabu-Jabu swallows it, the Bombfish will explode, thus stunning it momentarily. The challenge comes from trying to deal with the minions, Lord Jabu-Jabu’s enormous appetite, and keeping objects afloat.

Lanayru Slime in The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

2Lanayru Slime

An Increasing Number Of Bosses With A Tricky Gimmick

The mini-boss of the Lanayru Temple does not have a name. As it looks like a giant green slime, let’s just call it the Lanayru Slime. While the main boss of the dungeon is no pushover, Skorchill, the Lanayru Slime is harder. Players have to figure out that they need to freeze it before they can damage it.

Players should release an Ice Keese Echo repeatedly to attack the boss. Once the Lanayru Slime freezes, players can then attack it, but then the real trouble will begin. It will split in two and keep on splitting as players repeat this process. Trying to dodge all of these slimes, freeze them, and damage them is a juggling act that not many can handle in such a tight room. Hopefully, players come prepared with a lot ofsmoothies inThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, especially those that replenish energy, to make full use of that Swordfighter form.

Ganon in The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

1Ganon (Second Time)

Zelda’s True Lord Of Darkness Only Makes A Brief Cameo

Ganon is the main antagonist of theZeldaseriesor his other form, Ganondorf. It seems fitting then that he truly is the hardest boss inThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdomeven though he’s like the midway fight in the game. After facing three trials, players will return to Hyrule Castle, which has been swallowed by a rift.

At the end of this rift dungeon, Ganon will appear with several of his abilities, returning from the tutorial fight with Link. He’s fast, his double-ended trident packs a punch and has a long reach, and he has a lot of HP. Even if players did side quests and maxed out the Might Crystal upgrades to that point, players may have some trouble. Ganon is not an entity that should be reckoned with.
