Hollow Knight: Silksongremains a highly anticipated Metroidvania platformer that, to this day, still lacks any news regarding its development and release. Other than sharing a few tidbits of information throughout the years, Team Cherry has remained silent on the going ons of the game’s production. Still, this allows the developer to work on the title without too much pressure or worry about not meeting expectations, allowing for the time needed to produce something amazing. However, one thingSilksongcan do to capitalize on its development time in a big wayis to include a feature from the original, one that would be a costly mistake if left in the past.

Team Cherry has made sure that the scale ofHollow Knight: Silksongis going to be grander than its predecessor, with new enemies, a bigger world, and many other things to look forward to. However, this doesn’t mean that the sequel shouldn’t consider taking what made the first game so well-received by fans. One of the features that Team Cherry should consider returning toSilksongis the Colosseum of Fools. It is an arena where the protagonist can participate in trials that offer great rewards, and having it in the sequel would be a sensible choice to make, given how well it would fit into the game.

Why the Colosseum of Fools Would Be a Perfect Fit in Silksong

The presumed enormity ofSilksongwould make it perfect for adding something like the Colosseum of Fools into its world. But other than the largeness of the kingdom players get to explore, there are more reasons why the structure should be in the sequel, such as:

Adding something like the Colosseum of Fools isone way forSilksongto gain some goodwill with its fans, so long as it’s properly implemented into the game. Team Cherry should strongly consider putting the structure into the sequel, as not doing so would mean missed opportunities that would enhance the gameplay experience.

What Silksong Can Do with Its Own Version of the Colosseum of Fools

Silksong can tap into a goldmine that its predecessor didn’twith its Colosseum of Fools, and that’s by providing trials that have nothing to do with combat. Aside from fighting enemies, one of the biggest draws toHollow Knightis its platforming aspects. Though the previous game did have levels that tested one’s platforming ability, there was no singular place players could constantly go back to that would help polish it, making the Colosseum of Fools the perfect place that it should have been.

While that didn’t happen, the sequel would be the best opportunity for adding such trials, especially since Hornet is deemed more agile and acrobatic than The Knight. Again, this brings back the reason for allowing the development team to come up with creative level designs, putting the new sequel’s potential colosseum at one of the top spots for places of interest in the game.

WhenSilksongreturns, it can’t come back empty-handed, meaning Team Cherry has to make announcements that will satiate fans until the game’s release. A new Colloseum of Fools would be a good start, as what it could have would help gain the interest of veterans and newcomers, and give the sequel a more challenging gameplay experience that people can choose to take.
