Taedal’s Tower 15th Floor Boss In Throne And Liberty

Dren, theStealer of Light, is a melee-focused boss with fast attacks, and access to some sick ninja moves, as well as some annoying AoE that can kill unprepared players in an instant. But perhaps the most annoying mechanic this boss fight has is the instant stun and lights out mechanic that forces players to seek a light before the boss doppelgangers drain them of their life force.

Let’s check some essentials before we proceed with the boss fight and how to beat him:

Since players might have faced Leonardas already, it’s a similar boss. The Stealer of Light is a vampire, and like any vampire, it will have three main powers: control over blood, shadow powers, and super speed. That’s more or less the entire fight, but let’s take a look over each of the Boss attacks so we can know exactly what to do and how to counter all his tactics. Another curious thing the players might have noticed already is that upon entering the Arena, there will be a small ball of light in the middle of the Arena. Interact with it to begin the fight, and don’t worry about the transformation of the character: It is merely cosmetic.

Dodge/Block Active skills have a cooldown, if players spam them and do not block an incoming Fury Attack, the game will penalize them by putting that skill in CD. Take this chance to time your dodges and parries perfectly, and practice negating damage to use Block/Dodge efficiently during future fights.

Stealer Of Light Moveset In Throne And Liberty

Dren, The Stealer of Light, will rely heavily on his speed for the battle, confusing the players, causing them harm, and teleporting between their flanks to avoid certain skillshots. So, parrying and stunning him is a must to win this fight. Below there’s a video on how we countered itwith a Daggers and Greatsword build.

Best Strategy For The Stealer Of Light Boss In Throne And Liberty

For Melee Players

Keep the boss at close range, never lose sight of it. For Greatsword users, useStunning BloworDevastating Smashto keep the boss in place and prevent it from moving into range. Blocking withIron Point Parryis the best strategy to keep him stunned for longer periods, and delivering powerful combos that will chip down its health in no time.

For Sword & Shield users, trust in theChain HookandFierce Clashcombo for creating a similar window of opportunity, then deal as much damage as possible. Use mitigation skills sparingly, and save them for the second half of the fight, when the Boss is already cornered, and only in case the health bar of the character drops dangerously.

Daggers users should apply stacks of Thundercloud usingLightning Infusion (Inject Venom)andCleaving Moonlight, and they can combo it well with theFatal Stigmaskill. Rely on mobility to dodge those pesky AoEs, never stay in one place. If the Boss is fast, then be faster, useShadow Striketo confuse him, and then repeat combos until his health drops to zero.

For Ranged Players

Staff and Wand & Tome users will be more vulnerable during this fight. It will take some time until they get the hang of dodging, as they should not try parrying or blocking the Stealer of Light’s Fury Attacks, it will be nearly impossible for them to mitigate enough damage. Preferably to dodge and keep shooting spells.

In the case of Staff users, they should useInferno Wave,Chain Lightning, andSerial Fire Bombs, because they’re instant cast spells and allow players to move and shoot.

Tome & Wand players might be more vulnerable since they need to rely on their curses taking effect to deal damage, while they also have great mitigation tanks to their healing abilities and passives. At the end of the day, it will be a battle of attrition between them and the boss to see who endures more damage.

Crossbow users and Longbow players have plenty of mobility and skillshots. They shouldn’t have too much trouble kiting the boss into fighting them, though be careful with the Blood Shoot Fury Attack, as it will immediately stun all characters and leave them vulnerable to the Boss’s pesky Shadow Jump attacks.

If players keep in mind all the aforementioned, and avoid the Boss AoE, and complete the Light Retrieving sequences, they shouldn’t have any issues. But in case they struggle, havingLady Knight Karmashen(for Range) as aGuardian, orVampire Hunter Ezekiel(for Melee) is also a good emergency strategy.
