Sonic X Shadow Generationshas Shadow go up against several opponents from the past. As he continues through White Space to defeat Black Doom, you’ll face off against several enemies from Sonic and Shadow’s past. The first enemy to return is the Biolizard, which was the prototype that preceded Shadow in Gerald Robotnik’s attempts to create the Ultimate Lifeform.
The Biolizard is, as its name suggests, an immense genetically engineered Lizard fueled by an unstable energy source. Unlike its first appearance, the Biolizard fought inSonic X Shadow Generationsis a much more formidable foe that lives up to its name as the Ultimate Lifeform Prototype. This guide will discuss battle strategy and talk about the Biolizard’s fighting style, with a section at the bottom to touch on Hard Mode and how it alters the fight.
How to Beat the Biolizard in Sonic X Shadow Generations
The Biolizard begins this battle by reusing its fighting style from Sonic Adventure 2.It will advance towards Shadow while biting repeatedly, then switch to attempting to sweep Shadow away with its tail. You can avoid these by moving away from the incoming bites/sweeps, using a quick burst of boost if necessary to get far enough ahead.
After repeating this pattern a few times, the Biolizard will start charging and firing energy balls that surge forward along the ground. As the Biolizard moves its mouth back to prepare the attack, time your jumps so you launch into the air as it fires the orbs and you can use your double jump to hop over them.Rinse and repeat until the Biolizard overexerts itselfand its head drops to the ground, then homing attack onto the rails to get up on top of it to strike its weak point. Mash the homing attack button to pummel the weak point until it takes enough damage to enter phase 2.
After you deplete roughly a quarter of its health, the Biolizard will grow wings/tentacles and enter phase 2. Its main attack in this phase has it targeting a spot on the ground and then plunging one of its wings into that spot a moment later, creating a shockwave. Jump over these shockwaves and homing attack the tentacle wings, mashing the button to continue pummeling it until it bursts.
When a wing bursts, use the homing attack on the floating bubbles that appear to climb up to the Biolizard’s weak point and attack it again. After you’ve done this once, it will start performing more shockwave slams in a row before you get a chance to attack the wing. Rinse and repeat this strategy to keep draining its health until it drops to half.
you may use Chaos Control to freeze the Biolizard in place and give yourself more time to attack the tentacles, so take full advantage when you see an opening. (verify the tentacle is in a position where you’re able to attack it first though.)
Once the Biolizard is at half health, or a little below it, it will start performing a jumping attack, hurling itself into the air before landing and causing three shockwaves. Stick close to one of the landing zones it’s targeting, but not inside it, and jump over the shockwaves. If you have Chaos Control ready, use it to lock a tentacle in place and attack, otherwise, you’ll have to patiently keep attacking each one whenever possible until one stays in place long enough for you to burst it.
Keep this up until the Biolizard’s health drops down to around a quarter, and it will jump up to latch onto one of the walls, beginning phase 3. In this phase, the Biolizard will fire homing projectiles at Shadow, which you’ll need to shoot down using Doom Spears.Keep the button held down and open fire whenever you lock on. Make sure to press the button down again after firing so you can quickly lock onto the next salvo, since the Biolizard is relentless and will try to overwhelm you with the sheer quantity of shots.
After doing this for a while, the Biolizard will charge and fire a huge energy orb, which you’re able to freeze using Chaos Control and then pummel using a homing attack to kick it back. After this, homing attack the bubbles to reach the Biolizard’s weakpoint again, dish out some damage, and successfully perform a quick-time event to win the fight.
How to Beat the Biolizard (Hard) in Sonic X Shadow Generations
The Biolizard has one of the simpler Hard Mode changes, though that doesn’t make it an easy fight by any stretch. The Biolizard fights identically to how it fought in the normal version of the fight, but there are no Rings available anywhere in the fight. This means Shadow will die in a single hit, so you’ll have to be even more careful and pay very close attention to its attacks if you want to win. Luckily, the fight will checkpoint after it grows the wings at 3/4 health and when it latches onto the wall at 1/4 health, so getting killed won’t force you to repeat the entire battle.
