It’s not uncommon to find a decent amount of duct tape after a blood moon inside the various loot bags that you’ll find lying around.
As you progress, you’ll naturally find more duct tape. This is because loot quality is dependent on your game stage. You can check out your loot stage in the player menu. The higher the number, the better the odds are of finding duct tape inside loot containers. Not only that, but if you invest points in Lucky Looter, then you will also increase your chances at finding some extra duct tape.
Purchasing Duct Tape
Traders will often have some duct tape for sale. That said, the amount they have will depend on your game stage. Duct tape is usually fairly cheap to purchase. When available, it is always worth picking up, as it is something that you’ll use on an almost daily basis.
It’s also important to note thatselling duct tape to tradersusually isn’t a good idea. As you progress through the game, you’ll need larger quantities of duct tape to satisfy your needs. If you sell duct tape to traders early on, then you may come to regret it in the future.
Crafting Duct Tape
Duct tape requires two components to craft; 1 glue and 7 cloth fragments.Both of these things are easy to find once you know where to look. Also, crafting duct tape only takes a couple of seconds at the most, meaning that players can make large quantities of duct tape pretty quickly. Once you have built a workbench, you can bulk craft duct tape during the day while you are out looting and completing missions. That way, you are less likely to run out of duct tape. Obtaining Glue
Glue, like duct tape, can be found randomly inside most loot containers.It can also be purchased from traders, given as mission rewards, and found inside loot bags. However, the most efficient way of getting large quantities of glue is through crafting. There are a few different ways that you can craft glue.
The first wayis typically only used by low level players. It is possible to craft glue at a campfire. All you need is a cooking pot, something to keep the campfire burning, 7 bones, and 1 water. It’s worth noting that, as you progress and read certain magazines and books, the cost for crafting various items, including glue, is reduced.
The second way to craft glue is to make it at a chemistry station.Crafting glue at a chemistry station requires fewer resources when compared to the campfire method. That said, players will not only need to craft a chemistry station, but they’ll also need a beaker to be able to produce glue. Once you have a beaker, the base cost is 4 bones and 1 water. This will save you quite a lot of bone over time.
The final way to craft glue is to use Super Corn.This rare and valuable resource can be obtained by either doing a tier 2 mission at Carl’s Corn or by doing a tier 5 mission at the Shamway Factory. you may also sometimes be awarded Super Corn for completing a mission. That said, it is a very rare occurrence.The best way to get Super Cornis by visiting one of the two locations mentioned above. The base cost of crafting glue with Super Corn is 3 ears of Super Corn and 1 water. Once you have some Super Corn, you can plant it in a Farm Plot Block to create your very own Super Corn farm. Be sure to invest some points in Living Off The Land and wear a full set of Farmer’s Armor to maximize your yield while farming Super Corn.
Obtaining Cloth Fragments
Cloth fragments are very easy to get. They can be looted from pretty much every POI. Cloth fragments can be obtained by breaking down various pieces of furniture, curtains, and more. You can also get cloth fragments by salvaging certain items like vehicles. Outside of looting and breaking down items,you can craft some cloth fragments by using cotton.Cotton can be found dotted throughout the forest region. Cotton can also be broken down into seeds and planted in a Farm Plot Block. It costs 1 cotton to make 1 cloth fragment.
That’s not the only way to craft cloth fragments.After you have read Wasteland Treasures Volume 6, you’ll be able to craft cloth fragments using plant fibers.The base cost for this is 20 plant fibers. Since plant fibers can be found pretty much everywhere in the forest region, it won’t take long to farm enough plant fiber to make hundreds or even thousands of cloth fragments. As for finding Wasteland Treasures Volume 6, it’s worth checking trader inventories regularly. Also, be sure to search all book cases and mailboxes, as they havea high chance of containing either a book or a magazine.
While you can purchase cloth fragments from traders, it’s not normally worth it. Cloth fragments can be found or crafted easily and cheaply, so players aren’t likely to be in a situation where they will desperately need cloth fragments. With good inventory management and a keen eye for looting and salvaging, players should be able to find more than enough cloth fragments without having to buy any from the traders.
The Uses Of Duct Tape
Duct tape is a core component required to craft most of the important in-game items. Duct tape is a key component in making everything fromvehicle pieces like handlebarsto certain weapons. That said, players will find themselves using a large amount of duct tape to craft repair kits.One repair kit costs some duct tape and forged iron.Repair kits are used to fix weapons, armor pieces, and vehicles. As players progress through the game, they’ll find themselves using more and more repair kits.
As for some of its other uses, duct tape is required to make crucial items such as splints, Dew Collectors, and more. Having enough duct tape for all of your needs is an almost impossible task. That said, with enough Dew Collectors, a Super Corn farm, and plenty of cloth fragments, it is possible to mass produce duct tape at your base.
